QHSE Coordinator Rev 0, 07-Oct-2014
The primary role of the QHSE Coordinator is to provide support to the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Departments in accordance with Atlantica’s Integrity Management Systems (IMS).
Relationships
Reports Directly To: Lance O’Steen – HSE Manager; Debbie Pever – Quality Supervisor
Key Relationships: Internal: QHSET Department , Administration Staff, Department Heads
Role
Provide IMS support on and off-site as required
Promote understanding and compliance with Atlantica’s IMS
To demonstrate and promote safety leadership
Maintain high level of integrity and confidentiality with regard to Company information
Responsibilities
Interface with multiple departments and individuals in various capacities in a professional, courteous and respectful manner
Ensures adherence to all of Atlantica Management’s safety policies and procedures
Maintain Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental files
Assist in the maintenance and posting of the IMS Document Review Participation and Document Issue Awareness levels throughout company
Monitor Remedial Action Register (RAR) compliance and rate of close-out
Assist in preparing and maintaining compliance for ISO-14001, ISO-9001 and OHSAS-18001 certifications
Assist in the development and maintenance of the IMS
Process and format incoming IMS documents
Prepare incident statistical reporting (internal & external)
Assist in maintaining IMS document files , both printed and digital
Keep abreast of legislation, regulations and industry standards impacting the Company’s IMS
Assist HSE Manager / Quality Supervisor on any other duties as required
Qualifications Required
Education:
Professional Experience:
Three years’ experience within a Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental department
Prefer experience in one or more of the following areas:
Document Control
Quality
HSE
Ability to work within strict deadlines
Must be able to work without constant supervision
Excellent reading, proof-reading, editing, and technical writing skills and verbal communication skills in the English language
Previous experience with an offshore oil and gas exploration and drilling company is preferred
Licenses, Certifications, Credentials, Training and other Requirements:
Training as required for position as per Atlantica Management’s Training Matrix
Must pass random drug tests, as applicable per local laws
Minimum Competencies Required for Hiring
Proficiency in written and spoken English
Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills
Superior organizational skills and able to oversee very large number of files (electronic & hard copy)
Must have applied knowledge of QHSE Management Systems
Must be a team player and interact well with other cultures
Must have proficient computer and software skills on Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point , Outlook, Visio) and Adobe Acrobat.
