Publix/Atlanta Falcons Volunteaming Event to Help Action Ministries Feed the Hungry Program

Partners to Assemble Thousands of Food Boxes to Help Hungry Georgians
ATLANTA, Ga. (December 15, 2014) – People in need will soon have access to even more healthy meals thanks to volunteers from Publix Super Markets and the Atlanta Falcons organizations who will gather to assemble nearly 4,000 food boxes for Action Ministries, one of Georgia’s leading nonprofits.
The Action Ministries Feed the Hungry food boxes contain elements of a balanced diet including beef stew, tuna fish, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruits and vegetables, mac & cheese, grits and rice. Each food box serves a family of four for approximately four days.
Who: More than 200 volunteers from the Publix and Atlanta Falcons organizations

What: Volunteers from Publix and the Atlanta Falcons organizations conducting a volunteaming event to assemble 4,000 food boxes for Action Ministries Feed the Hungry.
When: Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Partners like Publix and the Atlanta Falcons are demonstrating their commitment to helping communities served by Action Ministries with events such as this volunteaming opportunity.



According to Feeding America, while the national food insecurity rate is 16.4 percent, it is 20 percent in the state of Georgia. Georgia has nearly 1 million food insecure children.
