Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok at the comtrans ’15 Exhibition

At a press conference held on September 7^th, 2015, members of MBTV’s Board of Management presented the company’s new structure. In June 2015, FUSO had been integrated into the business scope of MBTV, a 50:50 joint venture between Daimler AG and KAMAZ. Ever since, the company is in charge of production, sales, and service of Mercedes-Benz and FUSO trucks as well as sales and service for Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses in Russia.

Under one roof, Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok offers an attractive product portfolio of trucks and buses for all purposes on Russian roads,” noted Heiko Schulze, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok.

MBTV’s new structure allows to leverage synergies in administration, procurement and production of Mercedes-Benz and FUSO trucks. The new Board of Management includes Heiko Schulze, CEO, Oksana Karakhova, CFO, Jürgen Olberding, COO, German Gilfanov, Director of Sales, Aftersales Service and Marketing of Mercedes-Benz, and Ilya Bochkarev, Director of Sales and Aftersales Service of FUSO.

At the COMTRANS, Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok presents the most modern trucks in the Russian market standing out with excellent comfort, performance and efficiency.

Among the highlights of the exhibition is the new Mercedes-Benz Actros which will be introduced on the Russian market in 2016. The New Actros raises comfort, driving dynamics and efficiency to a new level. Its global leadership is confirmed by over 700,000 units sold over the 20 years the model and its predecessors have been on the market. At the booth of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok in Hall 15, Pavilion 3 in the exhibition centre Crocus Expo, the new Mercedes-Benz Actros 1848LS can be viewed.

The Mercedes-Benz Actros 1848LS truck-tractor for international transportation sets new standards in the automotive industry technology, and is presented at the exhibition in Euro 6 design. Its configuration includes but is not limited to: GigaSpace cabin, Mercedes PowerShift 3 automatic gearbox, a full set of aerodynamic spoilers, a total of 1,110l volume of all fuel tanks, hydraulic retarder, stabilization system, FleetBoard, Bi-xenon headlamps, massage function of the driver’s seat, automatic climate control, retractable refrigerator, and a CD recorder with Bluetooth.

The Mercedes-Benz Actros 1846LS Black Liner truck-tractor for international transportation represents advanced technologies and comfort and is located opposite to the new Actros. The vehicle has the unique design of the Black Liner series, is equipped with the Active Brake Assist 2 system, Telligent stabilization system, Voith retarder, Telligent distance control system, Telligent active lane assistant, Megaspace cabin, and a 1,430 l fuel tank.

One more exhibit carrying the name Actros at the stand is a truck-tractor for national transportation: Mercedes-Benz Actros 2541LS with a 6x2/4 wheel arrangement. The truck is a practical solution for transportation of heavy cargoes with a gross vehicle weight of up to 44 tons. Among others, a comfortable sleeper cab with two berths, Mercedes PowerShift automatic gearbox, Telligent electronic-pneumatic braking system, and hill start assist control ensure reliable cargo transportation and the required comfort for drivers.

Moreover, the Mercedes-Benz Axor 1843LS truck-tractor intended for national transportation is located at the stand with a 428 hp engine. A sleeper cab with high roof, lower berth, Telligent onboard monitoring system, and correspondence with European requirements on transportation of hazardous cargoes ADR are just several features of this vehicle which is ideally catering to the needs of Russian customers. Due to its 3,900 mm wheelbase, the Mercedes-Benz Axor 1843LS has an increased capacity.

For urban transportation, Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok offers the Mercedes-Benz Atego 1218L box-body truck with air suspension of the rear axle. The truck for delivery transportation stands out by excellent manoeuvrability in narrow urban streets, clear view, and efficiency while moving in the city, and a low curb weight ensuring high capacity. It is reliable and efficient. Ideal operation under urban conditions is ensured by a vehicle weight below 12t.

The FUSO Canter medium-duty truck is a flagship based on more than 50 years of constant technological development. Russia plays an important role in the global success story of the FUSO Canter. In 2010, local production of the Canter started by method of semi knocked-down assembly.

At the stand of MBTV, the Canter is presented with a refrigerator with a vehicle weight of 8.5 tons and additionally equipped with the refrigerator Carrier Xarios 500 that allows to keep the required temperature in the van constantly, and a DHOLLANDIA tail lift simplifying handling operations. The vehicle is intended for transportation of perishable goods or other cargoes requiring stable temperatures during transportation.

The FUSO Canter is a professional commercial vehicle with a long life-time and a wide range of superstructures, which allows using it for various applications: retail sales, construction, service industry, municipal services. Thanks to its excellent manoeuvrability, the vehicle is very comfortable for operation in narrow streets and cities overburdened with traffic. Moreover, it can transport cargo with weights of up to 5.3 tons and with a gross vehicle weight of up to 7.7 tons that allow a high payload of the vehicle. Four modifications of the truck with various lengths of the wheelbase (3,410 mm, 3,870 mm, 4,170 mm and 4,470 mm) allow to cater to the individual needs of each customer.

The vehicle is equipped with the reliable diesel engine Mitsubishi Fuso 4M50-5AT5 with 4.9 l volume, whose power is 132 kW (180 hp), and torque 530 N*M in combination with a 6-step manual gearbox. Great reserve power and high torque allow for the driver to comfortably pick up and keep the required speed under various road conditions and situations. Availability of balancing shifts reducing vibrations in engine design ensures more comfortable conditions for the driver, as its place in the cabover is above the engine. One more advantage of the truck is the possibility to control the oil level in the engine from saloon that is especially convenient during winter time.

Paying attention to the special needs of small companies that cannot afford a fleet with various capacities, the Canter is able to include certified tow units using trailing equipment. Another economic advantage of the vehicle is the possibility to purchase a wide range of additional options, such as air conditioning, tachograph, as well as a starting preheater.

On the outdoor ground, the bus subdivision of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok introduces the new bus for suburban use, the Setra S415 UL Business (Euro VI) to COMTRANS visitors. The bus is efficient, reliable and safe and intended for transportation of 51 passengers and 5.2m³ of luggage. It is suitable for suburban and inter-city transportation.

Despite the challenging economic situation, the bus subdivision of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok achieved a number of successes in 2015. Due to successful management, it is the leader of the Russian market among foreign bus models. Being a bus with an attractive price and proven quality, Setra has sold and delivered more than 20 Setra buses to customers in 2015.

With regard to Mercedes-Benz buses, the Conecto appears in the streets of Moscow every day with a very high availability ratio due to the high quality of the product, professionalism of the carrier Public Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans and an excellent level of service rendered by our service station "EvoBus Russland“.

The after-sales service department of Mercedes-Benz continues to attract customers to vehicle service station of its dealership network. The name of the 2015 summer campaign is “Spare Parts You Can Trust”. The objective is to increase the number of customers’ visits to Mercedes-Benz vehicle service stations and, thus, increase the sales volume of truck parts. The offer is valid until September 30^th, 2015. Within this period, the customers are offered reduced retail prices for a range of spare part for trucks with discount for separate items of up to 61 %.

59 Dealer and Service Centres of Mercedes-Benz, 50 Dealers of Fuso ensure promotion of models nationwide. Work on improvement of service rendering, fulfilment of corporative requirements and standards and further expansion of dealer network is constantly performed.
