Mid-Atlantic Ballet Intensive 2015 - General Information
Dear Family,
We’re very pleased your dancer is registered for one, two, or three of the following:

Intensive I July 6-10, July 13-17, July 20- 24

Intensive II August 3-7, August 10-14


Driving Directions & Parking Information

Mid-Atlantic Ballet (MAB) is located at 104 East Main Street (behind the former IHOP), Newark, DE. To access the parking lot (#3), use the driveway next to Abbott’s Shoe Repair. Take a ticket from the kiosk. Drive straight down the aisle, make a right and go down two parking aisles. You will see our logo on the glass door at the back of the building. We are down the stairs.


Intensive Hours, Drop-off & Pick-up

Intensive I hours are from 9am – 4pm. Intensive II hours are 9am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The building will be open at 8:30 am. The first class of the day will begin at 9 am. Students are asked to stay for the entire day. Parents should notify MAB if their child will need to be picked up early. Please make every effort to pick up your dancer on time.

Daily Schedule and Dress Code

Resident and Guest faculty will teach students 4 - 5 classes each day. Class offerings include ballet, jazz, modern, pre-pointe/pointe, variations, Pilates, stretch, dance history, dance vocabulary, music theory, stage craft and more. Students will be evaluated during the intensive program to insure proper class level placement. Ladies will wear black leotard of any style, convertible pink tights, black wrap skirt, pink ballet and pointe shoes, black jazz shoes, hair in bun. Ladies may wear color leotard on Friday only. Gentlemen will wear plain white fitted t-shirt, convertible black tights, and ballet shoes. All apparel should be labeled with student’s name.


Emergency Information

Parents needing to contact a dancer in case of emergency should call (302) 266-6362. If a dancer becomes seriously ill or sustains an injury, every effort will be made to contact the parents via the phone numbers provided on the student’s registration form. Please make sure this information is completely and correctly filled out on your child’s registration form.


What to Bring:

Lunch, water bottle, deodorant, dance apparel, beach towel, money for lunch, notebook, pen, sunscreen, sunglasses, neat appearance, and a positive attitude.


Studio Policy:

All students are expected to follow studio rules of conduct at all times. Students attending MAB’s Summer Intensive will not be allowed to leave the premises, except to have an MAB supervised lunch outside the studio (weather permitting.) Dancers 12 years and older (and attending Intensive II) are allowed to leave the studio in groups of three or more for lunch breaks on Main Street. A parental permission note is required and dancers will sign out with name and destination at front desk.

Waiver & Release


I understand that Mid-Atlantic Ballet may from time to time take photographs and/or videotapes of the student enrolled on this form and I authorize the Mid-Atlantic Ballet to use these photographs and videotapes for archival and publicity purposes. Recognizing the risks of illness and injury inherent in any dance program, I am participating upon the express agreement and understand that I am hereby waiving and releasing Mid-Atlantic Ballet, it’s employees and board of directors from any and all claims, costs, liabilities expenses or judgments, including attorney’s fees and court costs arising out of my participation in Mid-Atlantic Ballet’s programs or any illness or injury resulting there from, and thereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mid-Atlantic Ballet, it’s employees, and board of directors from and against any and all claims except for illness or injury resulting from gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of Mid-Atlantic Ballet. I hereby execute and deliver the Waiver and Release to induce Mid-Atlantic Ballet to permit me to participate in its programs.
