News Release Incident: Motor Vehicle Crash Date of Print: 05/07/2014

On May 7, 2014, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:53 am on the Black Horse Pike at Spruce Avenue, in the Cardiff section of the township.
A 2007 Honda Pilot operated by Quynh Do, 32 years of age from Egg Harbor Township, was traveling south on Spruce Avenue, crossing the Black Horse Pike at a green light, when a 1995 Dodge Van disregarded a red light and struck his vehicle. The 1995 Dodge Van was operated by James Gazzaro, 64 years of age from Hammonton, was travelling west on the Black Horse Pike, in the right lane, when he disregarded the red light and struck the Honda Pilot crossing the intersection. The Honda Pilot, once struck, lost control and struck a 2004 Ford Pickup, operated by Christopher Burns (51 years of age from Galloway Township) which was stopped in the left turn lane of Eastbound Black Horse Pike.
Do was extricated from his vehicle by the Jaws of Life rescue tool by the Cardiff Fire Company. Do, his 1 year old and 5 year old children, Gazzaro and his wife Daisy Gazzaro (59 years of age) were treated at the scene by the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad, AtlantiCare Emergency Medical Service, Shore Emergency Medical Service and AtlantiCare paramedics. All were transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus with minor to moderate injuries. Burns was not injured in the crash.
The West bound lanes of the Black Horse Pike were closed for approximately 1 hour while the crash was being investigated and cleared. This crash is being investigated by Officer Louis Poletis of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.
