Specialty Camps
The Overnight Canoe Expedition with Guide, Glen Perrin is the perfect opportunity for youth ages 11-15 to get away from the high tech world that we live in, and get back to an experience of value. Campers will learn about paddle strokes, water safety, navigation and how to pack for an overnight canoe trip. Canoeists will paddle Killarney Lake, Lake Max and Oscar Lake. Canoeing, portaging, and bush craft are part of the overnight wilderness experience. The expedition is based on minimal impact camping and leaving the environment intact. Participants require no experience…but the experience will be priceless.Itinerary

Adult Swim/Aqua Fit
New Swimming Program at the Beach! Swim instructors Kerrin Capon and Sydney Bernard will be holding Adult Swim/Aqua Fit classes at the beach Mondays and Wednesdays during the month of July. Join the girls at 6 pm for an hour of fun and exercise. $2 drop-in fee.
This summer the Killarney beach patrol staff are excited to offer a new program for community members. It's an adult swim/aqua fit class. Adult swim is a program put out by Red Cross catered to any teens or adults interested in learning swim, practising strokes or just socializing with others who enjoy swimming. Aqua fit is a water aerobic workout designed for all ages at all fitness levels. At the beach we have decided to designate 2 evenings a week for community members to drop in and participate in water activities with other water enthusiasts. We have modified the two programs and combined them to give participants a wide variety of swimming exercises to choose from. An instructor will be present to lead the group through various workouts depending on what the participants want to do. These workouts can be anything from measuring out a distance for swim laps, getting feedback from the instructor on strokes, learning to swim, a complete aqua fit class or a combination of all.
Exercising in the water is meant for all ages of all fitness and swimming levels. Water workouts are great due to the fact they have very little impact on the bodies joints. Multiple muscles can be worked at the same time or certain ones can be focused on, participant's intensity can vary, workout can be catered to participant's needs and everyone benefits.
The instructors at the beach are excited to welcome all community members to use our lake. Anyone can come whether you're a fit athlete, uncomfortable swimmer, recovering from a surgery, suffering from a medical condition, post-natal, looking for cross training, male, female, seasoned or young. We are looking for people to join in having fun and getting healthy.
See you at the beach!!!
