Drafted: Pick 7 of the 4th round by Jacksonville
Analysis
Positives: Solid blocker with a muscular, compact frame...Quick to get his hands up on a defender...Has quick feet and plays with an aggressive nature...Does a solid job of getting to the second level to cut off and neutralize the linebackers...Has an explosive release off the line...Maintains his balance while absorbing the hits in traffic... Quick in and out of his breaks, displaying good concentration going up for the ball...Quick to extend his arms to haul in the high pass...Natural receiver who works hard to get open... Has the agility to sink his hips and turn upfield rapidly after the catch...Shows the leg drive and upper body power to break tackles and the acceleration to separate from the defender running down the sidelines...Knows how to use his hands to escape the press at the line of scrimmage... Does a nice job of working back towards the ball and can find the seam on deep routes.
Negatives: Shows liabilities as a blocker due to adequate strength...Does not go after the linebackers on a regular basis when called upon to block upfield for the ground game... Will try to wall and screen off the defenders, but with little success as his lack of power prevents him from gaining advantage coming off the ball... Could be used more as an H-back, as he has problems "keeping his leg" underneath him when trying to maintain position vs. the larger defenders...Needs to develop better hand usage as a blocker, as he tends to try and out-wrestle with his opponent...While he has good acceleration after the catch, he lacks the ideal speed you look for in a tight end...Needs better muscle tone.

Analysis
Positives: Compactly built runner with a solid upper body frame...Very quick coming out of his stance, getting into top speed immediately...Quite sudden in his movements, gaining advantage over the defender with his juking moves...Has great field vision, easily spotting blockers down-field and seeing the rush lanes, running through the holes with awareness...Picks and slides through the inside holes at a low pad level...Changes his angles properly to reach the outside corner when the inside rush lanes are clogged... Displays fluid lateral agility and the balance to spin, plant and drive with no hesitation in order to gain additional yardage upfield...Explosive runner with the wiggle and hip swerve to break tackles down and make defenders miss...Very quick to get on the edge to outrun the pack...Sees threats well and reacts instantly when the initial rush lane is clogged... Shows surprising power in his leg drive and is capable of moving the pile.
Negatives: Appears more comfortable running on the edge than up the middle...Has to secure the ball better on his carries to prevent the costly fumble, as he carries the pigskin too loosely...Needs to polish his route running as he tends to round his cuts and looks hesitant coming back for the underneath passes...Blocking is marginal and lacks the strength to face up and sustain (shows willingness, but no technique).
