The important Directorates have limit or no own office infrastructure and largely functioning out of rented premises. DGCEI (99.62%), DGRI (58.39%), DG Vigilance (100%), DG Systems (26.07%). ONGOING CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS Project Status Construction of RTI NACEN, Bangalore Project sanctioned. Construction stated in March 2013. Construction of office building and residential quarters for Central Excise Division and Ranges at Patiala (Chandigarh Commissionerate). Work completed. Building will be handed over in couple of months after statutory clearances. Construction of Central Excise office building at Nanpura, Surat-II. RCC, bricks & plaster work completed. Laying of slabs on terrace floor under way. Construction of office building at Vapi. Work under progress. RCC basement slab already casted. Work is slow due to shortage of funds. Release of funds for the project taken up by DGHRD with DGCPWD. Construction of office building in Central Excise building Rajamundry. Work completed. Building in the process of being handed over. Construction of Office Building in Arera Hills, Bhopal Construction of Office Building and residential quarters at Anantpur, AO Sanctioned in 2012-13. Construction yet to start due to non provisioning of funds by CPWD CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS IN PIPELINE Project Status Construction of office for Central Excise Commissionerate Panchkula. Proposal submitted of the Ministry for approval. Certain observations made relating to costing of the project. Reply awaited from Commissioner. Construction of office for Central Excise Rohtak. PE received in DGHRD. Deficiencies communicated to Commissioner. Construction of RTI NACEN, Hyderabad. Proposal under submission to Ministry for sanction. Construction of office building for Central Excise Division, Nanded in Nashik Commissionerate. Proposal received in DGHRD. Reply to deficiencies awaited. Construction of Central Excise Division building in Udippi – Mangalore Commissionerate Proposal under preparation for submission to Ministry. Construction of office building at Bhavnagar. Proposal received in DGHRD. Reply to deficiencies awaited Construction of office building for Central Excise Delhi-II Commissionerate at Nangal Raya, New Delhi. NBCC selected as Project Management Agency. MoU approved by Ministry of Law. Complete PE yet to be received from Commissionerate CRITICAL AREAS FOR AUGMENTATION OF OFFICE INFRASTRUCTURE Creation of office infrastructure in New Delhi particularly for Service Tax formations as in the cadre re-structuring six new Service Tax Commissionerates are proposed to be created in New Delhi. Proposals in pipeline include acquisition of NBCC Plaza in Okhla for RS.179 crore for which proper proposal yet to be received from Commissionerate and construction of Central Excise Delhi-II office at Nangal Raya, New Delhi. Creation of office infrastructure for Service Tax in Mumbai as six new Service Tax Commissionerates proposed to be created. One proposal for hiring of Lotus Infoshare building, Lower Paarel in pipeline and being submitted to the Ministry. Construction on Suleman Shah Plot in Wadala will provide ultimate panacea. Creation of office infrastructure in the Metropolis of Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Pune. Where there is acute shortage of office space, new formations coming up in cadre restructuring and rentals are high. Office infrastructure on Land Customs Stations and Border Posts.
