P: When did you start to get interested on Real Valladolid?

R: I started to be interested in Real Valladolid when I heard that they were coming to Scotland for preseason 2010 and they were going to play my local team, Inverness Caledonian Thistle. I started to read about them on the internet, and visited blanquiviolets.com to find out more about the team and it's history. Then I started to find out more about the city of Valladolid itself. I watched them play in my city and I knew that they were the team I wanted to support. I was named on the official website after the game and I got to meet and speak to some of the players (with my bad Spanish!!).

P: How do you support the team?

R: I watch matches on the internet when it is possible, or listen to the matches on radio. I also use Twitter and Facebook to follow the news, and I visit the official website and BLANQUIVIOLETAS regularly.

P: Have you ever been to the stadium José Zorrilla for watching a match? If not, would you like to go to Valladolid soon?

R: No, I have never been to the stadium to watch a match but I would love to do it very, very soon!

P: What is your Real Valladolid’s favourite player?

R: My favourite players are Sisi and Javi Guerra. I was very impressed by Sisi when I saw him play, and he was the best player I spoke to. He was very kind to me, and tried to help me with my Spanish! We spoke about the cold weather and Loch Ness! I think Javi Guerra is a brilliant forward player and he is very important to the team. There is nothing better than watching him score goals!

P: What football player would you like to meet personally?

R: I have been very lucky in my life and I have met lots of famous football players like Leo Messi, Iker Casillas, Xavi, Ronaldinho, David Silva, Fernando Llorente, David Villa, etc. I think I would choose Cesc or Fernando Torres as I have not met them yet. I would like to meet the current Real Valladolid squad as there are many changes since I met some of them last year. My dad is a Real Madrid fan, so if I could travel back in time I would take him to meet the Real Madrid team of the 1960.

P: What goal do you specially remind?

R: I’m only a new fan so I looked on youtube and I think the best real Valladolid goal was when Kaviedes scored against Barcelona, that was a great goal! Maybe my favourite goal of all time was Torres against Germany in Euro 2008.

P: If you had to keep and exciting time lived with Real Valladolid, ¿what would you highlight?

R: I think every moment with Real Valladolid is an important moment. The team has a bright future. I hope that you ask me the same question at the end of the season, and I can say my favourite moment is promotion.

P: Do you think Real Valladolid is going to be promoted to the first division this season?

R: Yes, definitely! They were very close to promotion last year, and I think there is a stronger team this year. I have faith in the players, managers and the amazing fans who will support the team to the end.

P: If Real Valladolid was promoted to the first division, would you come to Valladolid to celebrate it?

R: I would love to! It would be the best party ever! However, it is very expensive to go to Valladolid from Scotland. Maybe the club could sponsor my flight to Valladolid (ha ha!)

P: When you tell your friends that you are a Real Valladolid supporter, what do they say? Are they surprise?

R: Yes, they are very surprised! A lot of people ask who they are. They do not realise how many famous names have played for the club. But I am proud to say I am with ‘pucela’ now. My friends know I have been a supporter of the spanish national team for a long time. Usually this is ok, but a few of my friends were upset when Scotland played Spain and I was supporting Spain. Some people said very horrible things to me, but it does not bother me. I love Spain. Last year, I went to Hampden Park supporting Spain when they played Scotland. Many people do not understand why I can do this, but my passion for Spanish football is deep in my heart.

P: Do you like other sports? (Rugby, extreme sports…)

R: I love sports. I play American football for the Highland Wildcats. I have played for 12 years. I also play football (¡in my ‘pucela’ shirt!). I go cycling a lot and sometimes play golf. I like to watch tennis, baseball and ice hockey too. I would like to try handball! It looks fun, and I believe that Valladolid has a good team.

P: What other teams, whether football or other sports, do you sympathize?

R: The Spanish national team. I have been a fan since 1994. I have many Spain shirts. I don’t support other football teams. In other sports: my favourite American football teams are the Atlanta Falcons, and the University of Georgia Bulldogs. In baseball, Atlanta Braves. My favourite tennis player is Rafa Nadal.

P: Which team were you supporter before meeting Real Valladolid?

R: People will not like me for saying this but…I was a Barcelona fan. I started to like them when I was 6 years old. I have seen them play lots of times and met lots of players. But lately, I did not enjoy supporting them and need something else. I wanted to experience the real Spain, not just the “big two”. In Scotland, we have the same problem. Anywhere you go, you see fans of Rangers and Celtic because they win everything. There is more to Scotland that Rangers and Celtic and I knew there was more to Spain than Real Madrid and Barcelona. They are too big. I wanted to find a club where the fans were more important, who like the team because it is in their hearts –not because the team has all the money and success.

Real Valladolid have made me so proud to be fan. I know some people might not like me for being a former Barcelona fan, but it was easy to be impressed by all the success. Now, I have found a club that I love. I am proud to carry ’pucela’ in my heart.

P: Do you prefer Spanish league or other leagues as England Premier league and Scottish Premier League?

R: I do not like the Scottish Premier League. It is not a strong league. Only Rangers and Celtic have success. My city has a team, but I do not like them. I sometimes watch the English Premier League, but I do not support a team. I look for good games from Torres, Mata, Silva, Reina, etc. I think La Liga plays the best football in the world.

P: How is considered the Spanish league in Scotland?

R: People consider the Spanish league to be very strong. A lot of people in Scotland say that the English Premier League or La Liga are the best in the world. I think Spanish football is better than England.

P: What do you think about the Scottish Premier League decline?

It is sad, because it was a better league many years in the past. Aberdeen beat Real Madrid in a famous cup final! Now only Rangers and Celtic have money. They dominate the leagues and cups, but have no success in Europe. The Scottish Premier League would be more competitive without them, but where do they go?

P: Do you think Spanish National Team is the favourite one to win Euro2012? What team would you like to win Euro 2012 Championship?

R: I think everyone would choose Spain as the favourite. I really hope they win, but other teams will play their best against Spain to try to beat the champions, so it will be hard. When Spain won Euro 2008, it was the best night of my life because they played so well for the whole tournament after many years of disappointment. I wore my Torres Spain shirt to work the next day.

P: Tell me a wish.

R: I would wish to visit Valladolid to watch some matches, and meet many of the people who make Real Valladolid so special. I would wish for my Spanish to be better first. If any ‘pucela’ fans would like to speak to me, they can find me on twitter (@pucelaescocia) or on facebook. I would also wish it was warmer in Scotland too.
