Communiqué de presse

KOMET MicroKom BluFlex 2 precision drilling system

MicroKom BluFlex – the second generation

The KOMET GROUP has developed a second, completely redesigned version of the MicroKom BluFlex precision drilling system, which is impressive thanks to its high levels of precision and simple handling, as well as a particularly high-contrast OLED display. Using Bluetooth, the display located in the head of the MicroKom BluFlex 2 can also be transmitted to any conventional Android or iOS smartphone.

The user-friendliness of the new KOMET MicroKom BluFlex 2 precision drilling system has been further improved compared to the previous model. This is down to a new, particularly high-contrast OLED display which is located on the precision adjustment head itself. It is extremely energy-efficient, which means that the batteries located in the head only need to be replaced occasionally. The user can configure all settings using the touch display. It even changes its position by 180° at the touch of a button.

An absolute position measuring system is integrated in the precision adjustment head. This displays the absolute and relative positions of the slide every time the system is switched on. As is required for precision drilling, the tool can be finely adjusted in the µm range. The display is also able to show the position of the tool in µm increments.

The part balancing, which is also integrated to the head, enables speeds of up to 20,000 rpm to be reached. Although the slide is self-clamping, we recommend manually clamping it with a hex key for high speeds and precision applications. The precision adjustment head can also be radially adjustment in this simple manner.

The current Bluetooth adjustment key is no longer necessary in the new version of BluFlex. This is because all of the Bluetooth technology is located in the precision adjustment head. This also includes a Bluetooth low-energy interface, which makes it possible to transmit all data to a smartphone (from Android 4.3 or iOS 10). Users can view the BluFlex display on their smartphone using the MicroKom BluFlex 2 app which is available in the Google Play Store and App Store – with the added convenience of a wider range of more flexible options for reading off data.

MicroKom BluFlex 2 is suitable for precision drilling in the diameter range from 6 mm to 365 mm. The precision drilling system features the universal ABS interface which is standard for KOMET tools and is fully compatible with the current MicroKom BluFlex and hi-flex systems where the tools are concerned. Despite the addition of the display to the head, the dimensions of the head have not changed.
