Semantics: Knowing structure of words (internal), for words/ morphemes (recognizing words, how to build plural etc.)
Syntactics: how to combine words into sentences (subject, verb, object)
Pragmatics: how to use the language in context (to achieve goals in social contexts), having discourse, interpreting other’s language, express yourself effectively, specifically, (social knowledge helps too to accomplish these goals)
