Rich started pitching in 1964, while in the Navy. While in the service, he was named MVP in the Confax Jax Tournament.
Rich pitched for top teams including the Red Whites and the Poughkeepsie Brewers.
He has pitched numerous no-run games.
He played in 12 New York State and 6 Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournaments.
He was named the MVP in the 1975 NYS Tournament.
He was named MVP in the Allentown Eastern Classic while pitching for the Poughkeepsie Brewers.
Was named MVP in the 1981 Mid-Atlantic Regional held in Patterson, New Jersey, while pitching for the Middletown All Stars.
While pitching for the Brewers, Rich once led the Atlantic Seaboard League in Earned Run Average.
Because of a hip replacement, Rich was forced to retire in 1984. Rich is a member of the Dutchess County Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame.
