COMCAST’S SEEKING SOLUTIONS WITH SUZANNE

ANNOUNCES FIRST CO-HOST:

VETERAN BROADCASTER WALLY KENNEDY TO JOIN

SHOW CREATOR AND HOST SUZANNE ROBERTS
SSWS Also Announces New Airtime For Weekly Half-Hour Show and

Launch Of Live Web Streaming On Suzanne.tv
PHILADELPHIA, PA – January 21 – Comcast’s Seeking Solutions with Suzanne, a nationally-televised daily and weekly information / entertainment show hosted by Emmy Award-winning creator Suzanne Roberts, announces the addition of veteran broadcaster Wally Kennedy as the program’s first co-host, as well as airtime changes for the show’s weekly half-hour segments and the launch of live web streaming on the show’s own website, www.suzanne.tv.
Kennedy, a native of Chicago who has been a news anchor with KYW Newsradio, one of the top-rated stations in the country, since 2006, and will continue his anchor duties in addition to assuming his new role, is a familiar face in Philadelphia media, having spent 20 years as a television talk host leading three successful news-oriented talk programs, an entertainment show and many specials. Comfortable in the arena of national notables, having interviewed celebrities from Nicole Kidman to Steven Spielberg, Tom Cruise, and Oprah Winfrey, he’s looking forward to this new frontier.
“Having just turned sixty, I've become acutely aware of how the older viewer can feel left out of most programming on TV. There's not much out there. I had seen the show long before I ever met Suzanne, and admired her interviewing style. She’s unafraid to ask the questions that everyone watching wants to have asked, no matter how provocative, and that’s both inspiring and challenging. Being able to contribute to Seeking Solutions with Suzanne, as well as continuing to anchor at KYW, makes me feel very blessed, and I’m thrilled to have this unique opportunity.” Kennedy’s segments will begin airing the week of February 1, 2009.
Says Roberts of her new hosting partner, “We’re all thrilled to have him. Wally is the consummate professional – he knows what he’s doing, he’s wonderfully easy to work with, and he makes my job easier. And, practically speaking, having a co-host allows us to expand our reach in terms of content – not only making it possible to do more location shooting and be more creative because we’ll be sharing the workload, but also providing balance with a younger, and male, perspective.”

That expanded capability is evident in the upcoming broadcast schedule. While one of Kennedy’s first segments as co-host is Ms. Senior America, shot on location at the pageant in Atlantic City, NJ last fall, several others were shot recently in Boston, including: The Cambridge Health Alliance PACE Program (Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) which serves seniors with chronic care needs by providing access to the full continuum of preventative, primary, acute, and long term care services; an interview with noted Rabbi Harold Kushner, author of When Bad Things Happen to Good People, which, since its publication in 1981has brought solace and hope to millions of readers and transformed the author to a nationally known spiritual leader; and The Treehouse -- an intergenerational community in Easthampton, MA, created as a way to engage seniors in the care of foster children who would otherwise be bounced from home to home, and provide them with tools

        1. Seeking Solutions with Suzanne Announces New Co-Host; Airtime Changes

to succeed in life – a concept, pioneered in 1994 by Hope Meadows at a former military base in Rantoul, Illinois, that is now catching on around the country.

For Seeking Solutions with Suzanne, the recent changes at The Comcast Network have produced some unexpected benefits. While the show’s five minute segments broadcast three times daily on CNN Headline News, at 11:55am, 1:55pm and 3:55pm will remain the same, the weekly half-hour episodes, previously broadcast at 6pm ET, will now be seen Sunday evenings at 7:30pm ET, and rebroadcast on Fridays at 1pm. Coinciding with the time change, which takes effect February 1, the show is launching live web streaming of the weekly episodes (previously accessed on CN8.tv) on the Seeking Solutions website – www.suzanne.tv, enabling a worldwide audience with Internet access to continue to enjoy the episodes live as they happen, now at 7:30pm ET. Additionally, the show’s producers, Philadelphia-based Stage 3 Productions, are working to offer viewers within The Comcast Network’s new footprint (now serving approximately 3.9 million viewers in the PA/NJ/ Del and Maryland/ DC/Virginia regions), the five minute episodes via Comcast Digital Cable’s VIDEO ON DEMAND service.
Broadcast to more than 20 million viewers via daily segments on CNN Headline News and the half-hour shows that air weekly on The Comcast Network and Comcast systems across the country, Seeking Solutions was one of the first nationally-televised daily and weekly programs for seniors with a senior host – Suzanne Roberts. A two-time Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award-winner, Roberts is a visionary pioneer who, recognizing the dearth of quality television programming for the over 50 audience, created Seeking Solutions with Suzanne in 2000 – and a brand new career for herself at the age of 80. Aiming to both enlighten and entertain, the show provides information, tips and insight on topics that impact the older adult audience -- from facelifts to prostate cancer, intergenerational conflict to finance, breaking the rules of aging to weight training – all within the context of an adventurous guide map to making the most out of life, regardless of age. And Roberts, known for her frank and in-depth interviews, has generated a loyal viewership that continues to expand.
Wally Kennedy spent 20 years at WPVI-TV 6ABC, Philadelphia’s top-rated station, hosting such shows as AM Philadelphia (later AM Live), Philly After Midnight, and Inside Story, as well as a news-driven Sunday morning talk program, Sunday Live. He has reported from the Vatican, the trial of a South Carolina mother accused of drowning her children, and the OJ Simpson murder trial, and interviewed a virtual "who's who" of entertainment and regional politics. He was the first to interview PA state senator Vincent Fumo about accusations that eventually led to his indictment, and the first to interview then-mayor W. Wilson Goode after the release of the MOVE Commission report on the fire that killed 13 people and destroyed a city block. Prior to his television work, Kennedy was a radio talk host at WCAU (now WPHT), the CBS-owned talk station in Philadelphia, and previously, worked at WSB in Atlanta and stations in Flint, Mich. and Evanston, IL. He’s been an adjunct professor of journalism at Temple University since 2004. A graduate of Loyola Academy and Columbia College, he and his wife are the parents of three children, and make their home in Chester County, PA.
Hosted by actress, producer and lecturer Suzanne Roberts, Seeking Solutions with Suzanne is a production of Philadelphia-based Stage 3 Productions and is comprised of five-minute segments airing three times daily on CNN Headline News at 11:55am, 1:55pm and 3:55pm, and a half-hour show that airs weekly on The Comcast Network and Comcast systems nationwide.
