Job Description
Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company is seeking a Senior IAMD Systems Engineer with experience in Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), Joint Warfighting Concept (JWC), Joint Concept for Fires (JCF), Battle For Fires (BFF) and Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) process, to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. This position is based in Alexandria, VA.

This employee will be responsible for providing sound technical judgement, engineering insights, expertise, and analysis of IAMD, JWC, JCF, and JCIDS programs in support of the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering Director for Mission Integration.

Required Skills



  • Bachelor’s degree in a recognized engineering discipline that is relevant

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required

  • Active Secret clearance and eligible for a Top-Secret clearance

Required Experience



  • Systems Engineer with minimum of fifteen (15) years of Department of Defense (DoD) experience in IAMD, JCF, and JCIDS domains in a program office or industry.

  • Thorough understanding of IAMD, JCF, and JCIDS programs, organizations, processes, and acquisition lifecycle.

  • Experience in systems engineering, programmatic, and/or acquisition in IAMD, JCF, and JCIDS.

  • Possess knowledge of IAMD, both offensive, defensive systems, and Left of Launch.

  • Possess knowledge of the JWC and JCF.

  • Possess knowledge of Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) process and associated boards to include the Joint

    Requirements Oversight Council (JROC).

  • Experience performing system engineering functions, such as participation in Analysis of Alternatives studies and technical studies, Government Reference Architectures.

  • Experience or training in IAMD technologies in one or more of the following areas: IAMD. ballistic missiles, guidance, algorithms, space environments, kill vehicles, command and control, radar, optical and/or infrared sensor systems, hypersonic and/or cruise missile systems.

  • Ability to evaluate assigned IAMD, JCF, and MDS JCIDS performance and provide objective insight into technical metrics, schedule, risks, engineering management, production, integration, and other engineering disciplines.

  • Ability to conduct deliberate and quick-turn analysis, and generate high-quality technical analysis, reports, and presentations for senior DoD leadership to support various Congressional, OSD, and Service reports.

  • Ability to evaluate IAMD, JCF, and JCIDS program development risks and provide recommendations to senior DoD leadership on the readiness to enter/exit acquisition milestones in accordance with statutory and regulatory guidance.

  • Ability to coordinate support to and topics for Technical Capabilities and Integration Steering Committee with R&E, A&S, CAPE, Policy, Joint Staff, STRATCOM, NO

    RTHCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, and Services.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal, proven communication and superior writing skills: must have experience developing staff packages and briefings to senior-level officials; ability to synthesize information and produce concise, logical reports and briefings.

  • Ability to prepare and present briefings to senior DoD leadership on the IAMD, JCF, and JCIDS program status and issues in preparation for decision meetings.

  • Review IAMD, JWC, and JCIDS policies and products with a focus on R&E equities and improving process.

  • Demonstrated expert proficiency in Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work and thrive in a dynamic, complex environment with little or no supervision.

  • Strong analytical and statistical capability.

  • Able to travel.
