Lauren Ouwerkerk, Speaker of the House

This week house of representatives has begun its full swing of changes. We had our first round table discussion with organizations about transitions and how their organizations do it and what works best. It was brought to our attention that many organizations feel that presidents and treasurers training isn't used in the best ways and that they should train more of the basic "how to be an organization" at Wright State rather than focus on OrgSync. Kailah and I are very excited for the year and hope to continue to learn more about our organizations and how to help them on campus.

      1. I am working really hard on talking to students about introducing their problems and concerns to student government because most students don’t know they can do that, I’m also working hard on getting the word out that I’m commuter senator and to contact me with concerns and ideas for more convenient parking

    2. Students are extremely concerned about parking, in my last report I discussed that students needed to get to school earlier to accommodate for the further away parking in lots 4A and 4B, however, this week I have discovered that some days as early as 11:00am there is literally no parking, and students with parking passes are having to park at Meijer due to no WSU parking spots. We need to work on marketing the fact that they can park down by the Nutter Center and use the buses. Meijer is also getting upset with the huge increase in students parking in their parking lot; it’s beginning to cause problems.
