The Small Business ARC (Assessment, Resources, Consultation) program is designed to provide local small businesses with technical assistance and training to grow and succeed. A select group of 6 small businesses from communities adjacent to the Atlanta University Center Consortium will be invited to participate in this intensive 3-month program. Applicants must possess a current business license and/or be in the process of acquiring one, demonstrate motivation to succeed, commitment to the community and a capacity for success. Preference is given to members of the West End Merchants Coalition and MLK Jr-Ashby Merchants Association. A selection committee will screen applications and interview finalists. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Deadline is January 31, 2017, 5:00 p.m.

Photographs may be taken during the Small Business ARC Program. These photos may be used in the AUC Consortium’s printed and electronic promotional materials, such as newsletters, brochures, PowerPoint presentations and website articles. Fees and Regions Bank Award
The cost of the Small Business ARC Program is $2,500. Because of the generous support from Regions Bank, we will award 6 selected businesses a $2,000 to $2,400 scholarship to offset the cost of the program.

All small business applicants must complete an Application Form and e-mail it to: aotey@aucenter.edu or mail it to AUCC, P.O. Box 92527, Atlanta, GA 30314 by January 31, 2017 in order to be considered for an interview.
Each business owner must commit to attend meetings, networking opportunities and trainings as requested.
Each business owner must complete all required assignments to build skills and learn new strategies for business improvement.
Each business owner must commit to meet with contracted consultants and experts as scheduled and notify them in advance if there is a change in scheduling.
Each business owner must commit to exhibit a community-friendly attitude with all consultants, and AUCC and UCDC staff.
Each business owner must commit to completing a Business Needs Assessment and to creating or updating a Business Plan or Model as needed with our contractor.
Each business owner must commit to completing all requested information as needed and in a timely manner.
Each business owner must commit to sign a Photo Release Statement at the beginning of the services for use in communicating our collaborative efforts and success stories.
