POSTSEASON BOUND: The Somerset Patriots won the 1st Half Liberty Division Title. It’s the franchises 13th Half Title and first half title win since 2010. In the 2-3 first round format the Patriots have elected to have the back three games at home so they’ll open up on the road starting September 24th. PITCHING PROBLEMS: The Patriots have allowed their opponents to tally at least 10 hits in 10 straight games BIG JON: Jon Hunton leads the Atlantic League with 43 saves. That’s 15 more than anyone else. On August 24th he set the Atlantic League single season record for most saves in a year breaking Mike Guilfoyle’s record of 40 that was accomplished in 2003 with Bridgeport. RECORD SETTING HALF: The 47 win first half sets a franchise record for most wins in a single half. Previous mark was 46 done in 1st half of 2013. STREAKING: Luis Montanez is in the midst of a 10 game hitting streak COME BACK KIDS: The Patriots have 36 come from behind victories on the season, 18 wins in their final at bat and seven walk-off wins.
