7TH ANNUAL “star 94 cares for kids RADIO-THON!” (Atlanta – November 12, 2009) Today, Star 94 kicked off the 7th annual "Star 94 Cares For Kids Radiothon” to benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Broadcasting live from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, Star 94's Cindy & Ray will host a 3-day marathon broadcast to raise money and awareness for this premier non-profit children's hospital including the Scottish Rite, Egleston, and Hughes Spaulding facilities. What is Radiothon? Star 94 listeners will meet some of the biggest “stars” of all - the patients at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta - during the 7th annual “Star 94 Cares for Kids Radiothon”, November 12th-14th. The Cares for Kids Radiothon will feature stories of triumph and hope from families Children’s has touched, as well as meet current patients at the hospital who will share their own experiences live on the air. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Children’s Miracle Network-Atlanta, which raises funds for Children’s, a not-for-profit pediatric healthcare organization. During the course of last year’s broadcast, thousands of Star 94 listeners opened their hearts and made pledges totaling close to a $1 million dollars, totaling $6.6 million dollars over the course of the past 6 years.
