Dover, Delaware (DE)

Annapolis, Maryland (MD)

  • Know where the states are located on a NE map.

  • Absolute Location: the exact place on a map using latitude

and longitude

Geographic features:

Mountains: The Appalachian Mts. Large range running

through the NE (the White Mts., Green

Mts., and Catskills are a part of this range)

Coastline:



  • where the water and land meet

        • Rocky coastline in north (ME)

        • Coastal plain in south- flat, sandy beaches (NJ)

Bodies of Water:

        • Atlantic Ocean borders the NE coastline

        • Harbors- deep areas of water where ships dock(Boston, NY, Philadelphia)

        • Lakes- NH Lakes Region, NY Finger Lakes

        • Bays- Cape Cod Bay, Chesapeake Bay

        • Niagara Falls (New / Canada)- provides hydropower
