The talkativeness of African Blacks and European Cro-Magnons, which astrologers see in people with Sagittarius' traits, is probably a consequence of a neglected rational and verbal intelligence typical of the left side of the brain, due to which their speech is often unconstrained and has the function of mental relief. Those attributes of their speech can be discerned in the following astrological commentary:

"Slang (Use of) is particularly characteristic of the ordinary Sagittarian. ... Sagittarius: Rapid and often copious talkers; given to abbreviations, slang, and slipshod speech." (Charles, E.O. Carter, Encyclopedia of Psychological Astrology, pg 165, 168)

It is known that word shortening and slang are distinct traits of American Blacks. For example, the sentence: "What is happening in the neighborhood?" – in the Blacks slang is: "Haps in the hood?"

Astrologers claim the Zodiac sign of Aries to be:

“Intolerant, lose their calm, impulsive, one-sided, harum-scarum, give no heed to other people’s happiness, act in a "pell-mell" way, proud, vengeful, tactless, sensitive to insults, they do not economize with their power, and even if they do not achieve their goal- they brag." (Mile Dupor, Don't Believe it, Check it, pg 57)

“They are often excessively self-confident, impulsive, reckless, and they do not think about the consequences of their actions. They are impatient and incapable of taking advice. In their craving for leadership they are often uncontrolled, excessive and tactless, and they use attacks and aggressiveness instead of common sense and diplomacy, which makes them look silly at the very least." (The Society of the Astrologers of Yugoslavia, Meet Astrology and Yourselves, pg 14)

"Aries is not noted for learning from experience. The spirit is willing, but the disposition is headstrong." (Linda Goodman, Sun Signs, pg 26).

When we read about this attributes of Aries, we cannot but recognize in them the character elements of the people of ex-Yugoslavia, especially in the areas of West Serbia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Dalmatia. The question that follows is: what anthropological population is this?

In Characterology of Yugoslavs by the anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković we read:

"In the Yugoslav ethnic area the Dinarians are the most common race... the Dinarians, in their core, occupy a long west Balkan limestone plateau, from Istra and the Alps, all the way to Epirus and Northern Greece, with weaker or stronger branches toward the eastern mountainous and northern Pannonian areas of Yugoslavia. In lesser percentage they spread far beyond this area, to the South Alps, southern Germany and Austria, even northern Italy. Through the closely related Armenoids in the east part of the Balkans, Asia Minor, Armenia, Kurdistan and some parts of frontal Asia, the Dinarians are, via some mutual deeper and older layer, connected with the group of the Caucases, which is anthropologically very close to them (particularly Ossetians and Georgians).” (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg. 176)

The question is: do the physical attributes of Aries correspond to the anthropological attributes of the Dinarians?

The astrologer Mile Dupor describes the physical appearance of an Aries as: "Slender, sunburnt, retroflexed forehead." (Astromedicine, pg 29) "The nose is prominent and curved from the root down, lips are thin and tight, jaws are energetic." (Do not believe it, Check it, pg 56) Anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković also describes the physical appearance of the Dinarians as: "Tall and slender body, tanned skin, retroflexed forehead, high rooted nose, long and prominent, tight lips, with thin line of the Dinarian mouth, prominent jaws.“ (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 174-175)

The Society of the Astrologers of Yugoslavia describes Aries as follows: "Sturdy bones, strong body, long neck, expressive eyebrows" (Meet Astrology and Yourselves, pg 16). Anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković also states: "The bones are strong with highly developed muscles, long neck, strong eyebrows, which are arched and lowered." (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 174)

Astrologer Mile Dupor says that Aries has "shiny transparent eyes" (Do not believe it, Check it, pg 56), whereas the anthropologist Dvorniković says that the Dinarian look is "shiny and piercing", and corresponds to the epic "hawk’s eye" (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 197).

Astrologer Linda Goodman says: "The well-marked brows often join with the narrow bridge of the nose in forming the sign of the ram ("Y"), perhaps as a warning to anyone with the silly idea of trying to stop or conquer him." (Sun Signs, pg 6) Anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković claims: "Strong eyebrows and a hooked nose, outlined eyes of a free highlander... that look is threatening, making everybody keep their distance." (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 197)

Astrologer Linda Goodman described Aries’ walk: "They may walk with the body slightly bent forward ..." (Sun Signs, pg 14) Anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković described Dinarians’ walk as follows: "Their body is slightly bent forward..." (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 205) Astrologer Mile Dupor wrote that Aries is "sunburnt" (Astromedicine, pg 29), and anthropologist B. Škerlj says that the color of the Dinarians’ skin is “somewhat dark, as if sunburnt“ (General Anthropology, pg 70).

And, while the astrologer Mile Dupor says that “fuzz“ is a characteristic of Aries (Astromedicine, pg 29), anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković says that the Dinarians' "face is covered in hair“ (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 174).

Georgian Dinaric women

Besides the obvious congruence of the physical attributes of Aries and a Dinarian, we can notice that their psyches are also similar. Aries is one of the male astrological signs, which means that both sexes under this sign have distinct male attributes. Astrologers claim that female Aries is the most masculine, followed by female Leo and Sagittarius. Speaking about a female Aries, the astrologer Maja Lončarić said the following:
