1.1.2.Site Features - Phase One

1.1.2.1.1.Homepage


The homepage of any public portal is the most visited page in the site, and it holds the keys to whether the visitors will engage more into the site or will bounce away. Accordingly, the proposed portal homepage will focus on providing an engaging experience, enabling end-users to easily know information about Banana Island through an attractive, as well as provide navigation to the rest of the website.


1.1.2.1.2.Reserve

The reserve module will enable end-users to choose arrival date and departure date as well as the number of adults & children and accordingly search for availability.
The reserve module will integrate with the existing backend reservation system, Anantara will provide ITWorx with the required web services for such integration.
1.1.2.1.3.About

The "About" section will provide the Internet portal visitors with an overview about Banana Island. The about us page will be a static content page adhering to a common page layout used by all information pages.

The about section consists of the following subsections:



  • Accolades: A static content page showing the latest awards received by Banana Island & Anantara

  • Resort Information: A static content page showing information about the resort

  • Resort Map: A static content page showing a map of the resort

  • Maps & Directions: A static content page showing a map of banana island and how to reach it

  • Interactive Map: An interactive 3D map, ITWorx assumes the map to be readily implemented through the mobile engagement and to be hosted as is on the website

  • Amenities: A static content page listing the amenities available in Banana Island

  • FAQs: A static content page showing the frequently asked questions

  • Visitor Guide: The "visitor guide" section will provide the internet portal visitors with a guide about Ananatara, showing an overview guide of the provided services. The visitor guide page will be a static content page adhering to a common page layout used by all information pages.



1.1.2.1.4.Accommodations

The accommodations section will list the accommodations available in Banana Island, showing the different villa types including:

  • Deluxe Sea View Rooms & Sea View Suites

  • Two Bedroom Sea View Villas

  • Two Bedroom Luxury Sea View Villa

  • Three Bedroom Sea View Villa

Each type will have a page showing information about the villa type


1.1.2.1.5.Dining / Cuisine

The dining / cuisine section will list the restaurants available in Banana Island including:

  • Riva - Italian Restaurant

  • Zest - Organic Café

  • Azraq - All Day Dining Restaurant

  • Al Nahham - Arabic Mediterranean Restaurant

  • Lagoon Bar

  • Ted’s American Grill

  • Tanzerin Beach Grill

  • Q Lounge & Restaurant Floating Platform

  • Q Lounge & Restaurant

Each restaurant will have a page showing information about the restaurant, together with its photo gallery, Instagram Photos, menu, hours of operation. In the second phase the system will enable customer survey and table reservation as part of the dining / cuisine section.



1.1.2.1.6.SPA & Wellness

The SPA and wellness section will list the centers available in Banana Island including:

  • Wellness Centre Treatment Rooms

  • Oxygen Fern room

  • Fitness Centre

  • Anantara Spa

Each center will have a page showing information about the center, together with its photo gallery and hours of operation. In the second phase the system will enable customer survey and reservation as part of the SPA & wellness section.


1.1.2.1.7.Activities / Experiences

The Activities and experiences section will list the activities available in Banana Island including:

  • Recreation

  • Water Sports

  • Dive Centre

  • Jazur Reef Centre

  • Lagoon Pool

  • 9 Hole Putting Golf Course

  • Kids Water Slide Pool

  • Splash Surf Pool

  • Cool Mint Kids Club

  • Pepper Mint Teens Club

  • Beach Volley Ball

  • Bowling Centre

  • Cinema

  • Tennis Court

  • Beach

  • Q Lounge Pool

Each activity will have a page showing information about the activity, together with its photo gallery and hours of operation. In the second phase the system will enable customer survey and reservation as part of the activities and experiences section.


1.1.2.1.8.Occasions

The occasion's section enables customers to enquire about special occasion arrangements, as well as provide a listing of the common occasions including:

  • Romance

  • Renewal of Vows

  • Meetings & Retreats

  • Events
1.1.2.1.9.Photos & Video Gallery

The portal will be able to share photos and videos through having an online media gallery available in the portal. The system will be delivered with a ready-made component for the photo and video gallery, where user will be able to view photos and videos published by Anantara.
The following are the main functionalities for the Media Center module:

  • Manage Photo & Video Gallery

    • The system will allow the Content Editor to add / update / delete photo & Video albums and set the album cover photo

    • Content Editor will be able to manage photos (bmp, gif, jpg, png,) by add / update / delete through the authoring site collection

    • Content Editor will be able to manage videos (Youtube links,) by add / update / delete through the authoring site collection

  • View gallery

    • Portal visitors will browse the albums and view the photos & videos through photo & video gallery landing page

    • The system will list all photos in a thumbnail mode and allow the visitor to browse in the preview mode or slide show view and use set of arrows to scroll through the album photos

    • With each photo the system will display its meta data (title, description)
1.1.2.1.10.Send Feedback

As an attempt to increase the user's involvement, the proposed portal will enable users to send comments, questions, suggestions, and complaints through a simple feedback forms.
Assigned Employee will view these feedback comments and respond to them accordingly through the appropriate channels.


  • The following are the supported functions for the proposed Feedback module:

    • Manage Feedback categories

      • Portal administrators will be able to manage the feedback categories by adding/updating/deleting categories; setting the category follower employee; and determining if the system should send an email notification to the follower with each submitted feedback or not

    • Submit Feedback

      • Visitors will be able to enter their feedback data by filling the four (4) appropriate fields and submitting the form

      • The system will send an email to the dedicated follower informing him that there is a new feedback submitted; containing link to the feedback item

    • Follow-up

      • The feedback follower will have the ability to view the submitted feedbacks in a table showing (sender name, category, comment , status)

      • The follower will be able to filter the feedbacks by (Sender Name / Category / Status)

      • The follower should be only able to change the feedback status(Checked / Not Checked)
1.1.2.1.11.Privacy Policy

The "privacy policy" section will provide the Internet portal visitors with an overview about Anantara's privacy policy. The about us page will be a static content page adhering to a common page layout used by all information pages.
1.1.2.1.12.Sitemap

Based on SharePoint 2013 sitemap, the proposed solution will allow easy navigation of the portal, facilitating the process of finding information for the portal audience, with the flexibility of adding/updating any sections when needed.
The following are the main functionalities for the portal sitemap:

  • View Sitemap

    • Front-end visitors will be able to view a listing of all sections of the portal, represented in a graphical and hierarchical way; each listing in the site map is a hyperlink to its main page.

    • Display the site structure as a tree of links; each tree level represents a sub-site and each link is a page or a sub-site inside this sub-site.

    • Automatically displayed by detecting the current language setting

  • Manage Sitemap

    • Sitemap structure is auto-generated depending on the configured parameters like depth, pages, or sites.

    • Content editors will be able to manage the sitemap through SharePoint by configuring (depth, pages, or sites) parameters.
1.1.2.1.13.Newsletter

Portal visitors will be able to subscribe and receive regular information posted by the portal web masters for a specific category that the end-user registered to.
The newsletter will consist of a textbox that the newsletter subscriber will enter his email in; accordingly the system will add his email address to a backend subscribers list.
The following are the Newsletters supported Functions.


Manage newsletters channels

  • The system will allow the newsletters admin to manage the newsletters channels (categories) by adding / updating / deleting channels

  • The newsletters admin will define a name and description for each channel in addition to flag for show in homepage


Subscribe

  • End-users will register their information by filling the registration form, where he should enter email address and optionally any other information such as their name.

  • End-users select the corresponding channel(s) that they wish to receive information from

  • The data entered by the end-user will be stored in the mailing lists, and an email will be sent to the end-user contains a link for activating his subscription

  • The activation email will expire after a configured duration from sending it.

  • There is no unsubscribing link in the activation email.

  • As soon as the user subscribe in any channel, he will be able to receive the latest News that will be added to the channel.


Unsubscribe

  • Subscribers can unsubscribe from the newsletter by clicking on the link in the received newsletter email and then choose the channels he wants to unsubscribe from.


Edit and Send Newsletters

  • The system will allow the newsletters admin to edit a newsletter to be sent to the subscribers

  • The admin will be able to edit the newsletter content in rich text mode

  • When the admin saves the newsletter, the system will store it in SharePoint

  • With the newsletter the admin will determine which channels should receive this newsletter

  • The admin will start the process that reads the subscribed users from the subscription list related to the selected channels and send them an email with the newsletter content or link to the content.
