Timeframe: 12 – 52 weeks
The purpose of the Phi Challenge is to find one’s passions in the chapter, campus, and community and to exemplify Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. These purposes should serve as a guiding principle for all challenge programming. If an event will not successfully advance these purposes, then it is not worth the chapter’s time.
The following section includes three items: (1) a diagram of the overall challenge cycle, (2) descriptions of every event outlined in the diagram, and (3) the challenge tracker.
Do not forget that this development program is a living document; creativity and improvements are encouraged. However, the program should remain written to allow for the following years to build on the program, not reinvent it.

Everyone’s Got a Story – Share Them
|
A well-respected member will facilitate a deep conversation with the group and allow members to share their life stories. The conversation has the potential to become very emotional, and it recommended that the facilitator share his story first. * “At one moment during your time in the Phi challenge, it is inevitable you will run into a time when you are challenged to act virtuously. It might be small, such as helping a stranger jump a car, or big, such as saving someone’s life. Either way, choose to act virtuously, record it, and you will have completed this task.”
** “At one moment during your time in the Phi challenge, it is inevitable you will run into a time when you are challenged to act diligently. It can be small, such as a tough day between the library and the gym, or big, such as training an entire semester to run a marathon. Either way, choose to act diligently, record it, and you will have completed this task.”
*** “At one moment during your time in the Phi challenge, it is inevitable you will run into a time when you are challenged to act with Brotherly Love. It can be small, such as driving a brother to the airport early in the morning, or big, such as tutoring a brother in a class an entire semester. Either way, choose to act with brotherly love, record it, and you will have completed this task.”
