the spindle speed and then the feed rate affect the surface roughness. An ANN model has been presented for predicting surface roughness values determined as output parameters. In this study, the properties of Inconel 825 and process optimization using intelligent optimization methods are emphasized.
3 Sustainable machining
With the development of technology, although the quality of life of people is increasing, it is necessary to reduce nonrenewable resources to make more stringent regulations on the environment and occupational safety/health, to increase consumer preferences for products that are environmentally friendly, to prevent global warming, and to make similar arrangements in order to sustain sustainable industrial activities

. Especially the manufacturing industry at the heart of industrial economies should be sustainable for the purpose of maintaining the high living standard reached by industrialized societies and for the purpose of ensuring that developing societies reach the identical living standard in a sustainable manner. Sustainability studies have concentrated on environmental, economic, and social issues, such as welfare and the environment, which include public health throughout the full business cycles that are generally defined as the time until the finalization of the extraction of raw materials.
There are many production processes, and these processes vary by the product, the production method, and the main characteristics. This leads to identifying the factors included in process sustainability and the complexity of their boundaries.
Mainly, among different impact factors, the following six factors are essential for ensuring a sustainable production process Energy consumption Production costs Environmental impact Operational security Personal health Waste management
For the manufacturing industry, it is vital to realize sustainable production in environmental, social, and economic terms from the extraction of raw material from the ore to the final product—a successful method of sustainable manufacturing. An improvement in the environmental area can also positively affect other areas. For example, the production plan, which takes into account environmental factors, can reduce the product’s cost by increasing the product’s life while lowering the input costs Recycling, reuse, and reproduction thinking in multiple machining processes in the production process are possible by the creative merging of engineering materials with the manufacturing processes and systems (Fig. 11.1
) The desired levels of sustainable factors in machining operations are minimum energy consumption and processing costs, as well as being environmentally
