WCW UNITED STATES TITLE: DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE vs. CURT HENNIG This was supposed to be a cage match, but for some reason we never get around to hearing what the hell happened with those plans.

CONTROL OF MONDAY NITRO: LARRY ZYBYSKO vs. ERIC BISCHOFF Bret Hart makes his WCW debut as guest referee. This match includes my favorite blown spot finish of all time, as the “load” part of Eric’s loaded shoe goes sailing into the crowd before making contact with Larry’s head, and Larry still has to sell it.

WCW WORLD TITLE: HULK HOGAN vs. STING The Stinger returns after a 14-month absence to win the World Title in the infamous “fast count that’s not really a fast count but we’ll pretend it is” finish. What a nice, selfless guy Hogan is, letting Sting go over cleanly in spite of his own ego’s best interests. Hogan truly is a great American, isn’t he, folks? Looking back, I’m truly amazed at how much I ENJOYED this show when it first aired. Much like the movie “Man on the Moon,” it somehow gets worse with every viewing.

FUJI GENERAL” Another TNT classic.

WOMEN’S TITLE: WENDI RICHTER vs. LELANI KAI Wendi Richter gets buried in a pretty uncomfortable series of matches to watch. This one is just uncomfortable to watch because it sucks…

WOMEN’S TITLE: WENDI RICHTER vs. SPIDER LADY But this one is hard to look at because it’s a legit double-cross on Richter, who gets pinned despite kicking out twice, and then unmasks Spider as Fabulous Moolah, who then proceeds to no-sell everything Wendi fires at her post-match, including a nasty belt shot. Wendi finally figures out what’s happening here and shoots a nasty look at the camera on her way out of the WWF. It escapes me why you would put this on a best-of collection.

TITO SANTANA vs. JESSE “The Body” VENTURA

PEDRO MORALES vs. TERRY FUNK from the Boston Garden.

WORLD TITLE: HULK HOGAN vs. RANDY “Macho Man” SAVAGE in a return match from MSG, January 1986. Savage bleeds buckets but wins by countout again! BEST OF 3 FALLS: PROFESSOR TORU TANAKA & MISTER FUJI vs. HAYSTACKS CALHOUN & TONY GAREA

HART FOUNDATION vs. IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF from Boston Gardens; The Harts are the de facto faces for this match, interrupting the Russian national anthem with a sneak attack. JUNKYARD DOG, “Superfly” JIMMY SNUKA, & ANDRÉ THE GIANT vs. BIG JOHN STUDD, KEN PATERA, & JESSE “The Body” VENTURA from MSG. I hope I get corrected if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure this is Patera’s last MSG appearance before heading to prison.
