Hazel Ratliff Kuczewski, 79 of Dublin went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 11, 2003 from Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born August 2, 1923 at Pulaski, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Mary Harrell; a daughter, Helen Dominick; three brothers, Raymond, Elmer and Russell Harrell; a sister, Pauline Bassler. She attended French’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church and loved to read her Bible, sing and draw. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Abbott and husband, Ronnie Wimmer, Dublin; one son, Gary Ratliff, Wilmington, Delaware; two sisters, Loraine and husband, Lane Keffer, Pearisburg; Myrtle and husband, Basil Bychkowski, Boothwyn, Pa.; two brothers, Woodrow Harrell, Roger and wife, Susan Harrell all of Dublin; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the French’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Billy Akers officiating. Burial in Highland Memory Garden, Dublin. Visiting will be Saturday at A. Vest and Sons Funeral Home, White Gate after 1 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

LAPHEW, Bess R., 96, of Dublin, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, in Highland
Manor. She was born December 29, 1903, a daughter of the late Clint and
India Price Richards and was preceded in death by her husband, Guy S.
Laphew, Jr., and a daughter, Mary L. Milton. She is survived by a
granddaughter, Melissa J. Milton; a great-grandson, Evan M. Neel, both of
Christiansburg; and special friends, Betty and Norman Dowdy of Dublin. A
graveside service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2000, at 12 Noon at the
Laphew Family Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Bauman officiating. The family
will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Saturday. The family suggests that those who prefer may made memorials to
the American Heart Association. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville, is in
charge of the arrangements.

Dr. Gillie A. LAREW, 94, Of 2301 Rivermont Ave. died Sunday morning at her residence. She was born in Pulaski County, daughter of Isaac HALL and Gillie Glendy LAREW. She was a retired college professor and Dean of Randolph Macon Womens College. She was a member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two half sisters, Mrs. T.E. TABOR, Newbern; Mrs. Thomas VONFURRH, Pulaski; several nieces and nep[hews, including Mrs. Fred WERTH, Marion; Mrs. James B. WHITE, Mrs. Robert ROSEBORO, both of Lynchburg. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rivermont Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the LAREW Family Cemetery in Pulaski County at 1 p.m.

The funeral for W. Guy LAUGHON, 80, of Wytheville, native Pulaskian who died Thursday in a Chapel Hill nursing home was held Saturday at noon from St. John's Episcopal Church, Wytheville with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski.
He was the son of the late Beauregard LAUGHON and the late Mollie SIMMERMAN LAUGHON of Pulaski.
LAUGHON was a retired manager of Sun-Life Assurance Co. of Canada and was retired owner and operator of Wythe Specialty Co., Wytheville. Surviving are his widow, Helen OTEY LAUGHON; three daughters, Mrs. Jenny Lou HOLLANDER, Mrs. Mamie Ann DAVIS, Chapel Hill, Mrs. Mary Jane Campbell, Norfolk, aIl formerly of Pulaski

LAWSON, Bennie Troy, 77, of 1124 Wilson Avenue, Pulaski, passed away at his
home Saturday, April 15, 2000. He was born September 15, 1922 in Draper and
was the son of the late Floyd Neal Lawson and Willie Chatman Lawson. He was
a member of the Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church and was retired from
Jefferson Mills. He served in the US Army as a Master Sergeant in WW II and
was a POW. Surviving are his wife, Julia Kidd Lawson of Pulaski; sisters and
brothers-in-law, Martha Lawson Adams of Max Meadows, Mary and Archie
Alderman of Max Meadows; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Peggy
Lawson of Pulaski; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held
Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Hershey J.
Longnecker officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens,
Dublin. Visiting will be anytime after 3 p.m. Monday and the family will
receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening from the funeral home or
anytime at the home. The family wishes that memorials be made to the
Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church or to the charity of choice.

William C. Lawson, 66 a retired employee of the N&W railway, died Sunday morning at his home at Maxwell following a paralytic stroke seventeen days ago. He was a son of Floyd and Rebecca Deskins Lawson, both of Tazewell County. He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Belle Stevenson; a son William Lawson of Bluefield; three daughters; Mrs. Esther Beare and Mrs.. Carol Conley, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. Hazel Asbury of Pounding Mill; seven grand children; two sisters, Mrs. Callie Cochran, of Cedar Bluff and Mrs. Harriett Christian, of Glenoma, Wash., a brother, Albert Lawson of Pulaski. Funeral services were conducted from the home Tuesday by the Rev. W.E. Mustard of Tazewell and Rev. J. A. Mullens of Bristol. Interment was in Tazewell.

LEWEY, Carl Webb, 83, of Roanoke, died in his sleep early in the morning of
Friday, December 22, 2000, at his home in Old Southwest Roanoke. Mr. Lewey
succumbed to Parkinson's Disease, after having cared lovingly for his wife,
Virginia, who died of Alzheimer's Disease last May. Mr. Lewey was the son of
Hoge and Sallie Lewey; and brother of Hallie, Ernest, Walter, and Paul
Lewey, all deceased. Following his graduation from the Virginia Polytechnic
Institute, Mr. Lewey spent his entire career (which he interrupted briefly
to serve as a U. S. Army captain during World War II) with the Norfolk &
Western Railroad. Mr. Lewey will be remembered with respect and love by his
daughters, Sally Storms, who lives near Sacramento, California with her
husband, Tony, and daughters, Natascha, Amanda, Alexis; and Virginia Lewey,
currently residing in Roanoke. Mr. Lewey is also survived by sisters-in-law,
Mrs. Ashton Dickerson of Partlow, Virginia, and Mrs. Ernest Lewey and Mrs.
Paul Lewey of Pulaski, Virginia. Dr. Ray Allen will conduct a memorial
service Tuesday, December 26, 2000, at 1 p.m. at Grandin Court Baptist
Church in Roanoke, where Mr. Lewey was for many years an enthusiastic choir
member. A graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Pulaski will follow at 3
p.m. Friends are invited to join the family at home at 402 Albemarle Ave.,
S. W. in Roanoke following the services. The family suggests any memorial
donations be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 710 West 168th St.,
New York, New York, 10032-9982. Oakey's Funeral Service in Roanoke is
handling the arrangements.

Thomas Kohler LIDDLE died suddenly from apoplexy this morning about 3 ‘clock at this home in the apartment built by the Bertha Company. While he had been in ill health for some time his condition was not considered any the more serious last night. The body will be interred Wednesday at Oakwood cemetery.
The deceased was a native of Wythe county and was 70 years of age. He is survived by his widow who was Miss Margaret CHAPPELL of Grayson county, and three children, T. K. LIDDLE, and Mrs. Laura SHERWOOD, of Pulaski, and V. I. LIDDLE, in France. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, holding his membership at Pocahontas. He was a carpenter by trade.

The funeral of the late T. K. LIDDLE, whose death was mentioned Tuesday, was held this afternoon from the Methodist church, the Rev. R. M. Standefer conducting the service. LIKENS, Charlie Allen, 84, of Christiansburg, died Monday, December 11, 2000
at Heritage hall Health Care Center. He was born in Montgomery County on
June 6, 1916 to the late Jerry and Rebecca Woolwine Likens. He is survived
by a sister, Ollie Marie Woolwine of Christiansburg; three nieces and their
spouses, Mary Sigman of Christiansburg, Barbara and Edwin Linkous of
Blacksburg, Bessie Taylor of Radford; a nephew, Edward Likens, of Baltimore,
Md., 11 great-nephews; one great-niece; and many close friends. Funeral
services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 13, 2000 at 1 p.m. in the
McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jube Burk officiating. Interment
will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family
will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral
Home, Blacksburg.

Robert G. Likens of Magnolia died Friday, March 22, 2002 at University of Pennsylvania Hospital, surrounded by family. He was 55.

Mr. Likens was born May 26, 1946 in Radford, Va. to Robert and Helen (Lowman) Likens. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad until his death. He had an interest in model trains and classic cars and was a member of the Del-Rods Classic Car Club.

He was a deacon, Sunday school superintendent, pastoral care leader and musician all at the Church of God of Prophecy in Woodside.

He was preceded in death by his father.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Joanna Price Likens; three sons, Robert G. Likens, Jr. (Stephanie Johnson) of Magnolia, Brian T. Likens of Delaware City and William E. Likens (Kristen) of Camden/Wyoming; a sister, Judy L. Flinchum of Dublin, Va.; many sisters, nieces, nephews and family.

Services were held March 26 at Trader Funeral Home, Dover.

Interment was in Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Church of God of Prophecy, PO Box 423, Dover, DE 19903.

LILLY, Judson Harmon, 91, of 5533 Old Route 11, Dublin, Va., died Wednesday, April 2, 2003 in the New River Valley Medical Center, Radford, Va. He was born August 10, 1911 in Madame's Creek, W. Va. and was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson Lilly and Roxie Mae Lilly Lilly. Mr. Lilly was an employee at Radford Army Ammunition Plant as a mechanic for 33 years. Mr. Lilly was a member of the Fairlawn Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. Surviving are his wife, Andora Anderson Lilly, Dublin; daughters and spouses, Margaret Judson Lilly and William Welsh, Oakton, Va., Patsy Lillian and Al Caudwell, Fairlawn, Va.; son and spouse, David Harmon and Gloria Lilly, Dublin, Va.; sister, Mabel Lilly, Hinton, W. Va.; six grandchildren, Hank and Karen Welsh, Sara and Jon Lilly, Nancy and K. C. Martin. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday from the Fairlawn Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, Va. Visiting will be Sunday at the Fairlawn Baptist Church, where the family will receive friends from 1:30 until the service hour. PULASKI - Howard Raymond LINDAMOOD, prominent Pulaski florist, died unexpectedly early Wednesday night at his home here. He was 75.
Lindamood had worked all day Wednesday at the Pulaski Flower Shop, which he founded and had operated for 47 years. He died of an apparent heart attack.
A past president of both the Virginia Florists Association and the Tri-State Growers Association, Lindamoodd was a member of the advisory staff of the Horticulturatal Department at Virginia Tech. He was a member of the Pulaski Chamber-of Commerce, the Elks Club, the Ruritan Club and the Pulaski Rotary Club. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by one son, Ronald R. LINDAMOOD and two grandchildren.

LINDAMOOD Mr. Ralph Eugene Lindamood, age 84, of 433 Carriage Hill, Pulaski, Va. died Tuesday March 9, 1999 at the Radford Community Hospital in Radford, Va. He is survived by his wife, Berkie Poe Lindamood of the home, two daughters Patsy Tipton of Ft. Washington, Maryland and Patricia Gill of Roanoke, Va. two sons, Ralph Eugene Lindamood Jr. and Daniel T. Lindamood both of La Plata, Maryland, one sister, Eliza Sager of Mt. Jackson, Va. one brother, James M. Lindamood of Mt. Jackson, Va. Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.March 13, 1999 at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with burial in the Reeves Family Cemetery at Twin Oaks. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta.

LINKOUS, Lewis Dudley, 55, of 7137 Warden Court, Radford, lost a courageous
battle with lung cancer on Friday, November 17, 2000 at Carilion New River
Valley Medical Center. He was born September 20, 1945 in Radford, son of the
late George Riley Linkous and Susan Divers Linkous of New River. He served
in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era as an Electronics
Technician, after which he worked as an Electrician for a total of 31 years.
Over these years, he made many friends at the Lynchburg Foundry Company,
RAAP, Hubbell Lighting Corp. and Volvo Truck Corp. He served for 31 years as
a dedicated volunteer fireman with the Fairlawn Fire Dept., where he served
as Assistant Chief for 19 years and as Fire Chief for the past three years.
He was a lifetime member of the Morgans Chapel United Methodist Church,
where he served on the Administrative Board, Board of Trustees, a Sunday
School Teacher and a member of the church choir. He was also a member of
Virginia May Lodge #38 A.F. & A.M. and Pulaski Royal Arch Chapter #39. He is
survived by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 32 years, Rebecca S.
Linkous, Radford; a son, Christopher L. Linkous, Vinton; a daughter and
son-in-law, Jared and Jonna Bobzier of Portsmouth; a brother and
sister-in-law, John W. and Ilectris Linkous, New River; a brother-in-law and
sister-in-law, Freddie and Dana Smith of Radford; her mother-in-law, Evelyn
Smith; two nieces and a nephew. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday,
November 20, 2000 at the Morgans Chapel United Methodist Church. Interment
will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
made to the Fairlawn Volunteer Fire Dept., c / o of Freddie Lee Smith, 7187
Warden Court, Radford, Va. 24141. The family will receive friends from 6 to
