Identify Gaps Tesla Would Need to Fill to Launch A Fuel-Cell Powered Vehicle.

There are several gaps Tesla needs to fill which are stated below.

Technological Gap
Tesla’s strategy for entering the market is the speed of the car. With a fuel-cell car, it is the same. The current car Toyota takes around 9.1 seconds to reach 60MPH when it is compared to the tesla model, Tesla takes around 3.1 seconds to reach 60MPH. (Dorian, 2019) Tesla needs to jump right on R&D.

Market adaptation

For market adaptation the first thing is safety. As the cost of the car will be high mostly the passenger could be family members. As a new technology people don’t know about the technology there are chances of people thinking about the safety because hydrogen is a highly flammable gas. (The international consortium, 2022)

Cost
The cost of Hydrogen cars is nearly 50000 GBP which is the cheapest provided by Toyota. (James. 2021). The cost of refueling is $16/KG which seems to be quite high for consumers. (CNBC, 2019) To narrow down the cost of the car and refueling tesla has to invest a large sum of capital. Even the cost of constructing a hydrogen filling station can vary between $2M to $4M. For ease of consumers, there should be a minimum of 2000 stations per country which leads to tesla's $8B investment per country. (California fuel cell, 2022)

Fuel-cell refueling station
There are only 15 refueling stations in the entire UK. (N. Sönnichsen, 2022) and in the USA it is about 107 (Glaptogas info, 2022)
