Compatibility


The Atlantic Coast Conference and Hardee’s , a brand of CKE Restaurants, Inc., are a great match for a sponsorship. The Hardee’s brand is undeniably compatible with the image of the ACC. This compatibility can be seen in the geographic landscape shared by both organizations, in the mission and values of both, and through the quality and tradition of excellence that each organization offers. As the tournament once again returns to Greensboro, North Carolina, less than 200 miles from where the first Hardee’s restaurant was opened, the opportunity to create a sponsorship that will benefit both parties has emerged.   • The Atlantic Coast Conference is the best college basketball conference in the country, with years of tradition. Hardee’s offers some of the best fast food products in the country, and has a tradition that dates back to 1960.

The target market of the men’s ACC Basketball Tournament encompasses large variety of people. The following information explains the demographics of the ACC tournament fans.

It is not specific to the ACC, but encompasses a broader range of the basketball fan base. Males and Females are both NCAA Basketball fans with males making up a larger percentage. Caucasian’s account for the majority of the Avid and Loyal fan. There is a smaller percentage representing African Americans and Hispanics. Fans from varying household incomes are supporters of NCAA basketball. 37.70% of Avid fans make between $25,000 and $50,000 and 52.50% of Avid fans make between $50,000-$100,000.

Hardee’s is a fast food chain that offers a variety of premium-priced Angus beef burgers and serves a large market of customers. Hardee’s is geared to serve people and families that bring in over $30,000 a year. Their target range includes teens to older adults between the ages of 18-49. The Hardee’s chain can be found up and down the east coast and encompasses all southern states. Recent marketing campaigns have attempted to appeal to “ridiculously” hungry teens, young adults and older adults by using male and female models biting into an “irresistible” meal. The marketing technique has been a success for Hardees commercial advertisements.

A recent study by the Public Health Sciences at U.C Davis found that fast food dinning become more popular among the middle classes families making $60,000 a year. Researchers also stated that for households making $80,000-$90,000 there has been higher intake of fast food. This is an a key factor considering that 52.50% of avid basketball fans bring in between $50,000-$100,000 a year.
