Frederick was a private in the Confederate States of America. He enlisted on February 1, 1864, wounded and captured. Paroled Greensboro, NC on April 26, 1865. Granddaughter Bernice Taylor Freeman stated that Frederick died of a heart attack on the steps of the Post Office in Dublin. At the time of his death he and Gatsy Domin7y had six minor children. Gatsy applied for 12 months support from Fred's estate after his death. Benjamin Hardy, his brother was executor of his estate.
