Corporal Ryan Begin, of Jackman, who has returned home from active duty with the 1/2 Weapons Company stationed in Iraq. Twin Town Homes, of Oxford, on the anniversary of its 50 years in business. Founded in 1955 by Alton Luck, the business began by selling mobile homes. In 1957, Alton's son, Hayward, took over the reins and the business became the first in the area to sell manufactured housing. Twin Town Homes is now located on Route 26 in Oxford and is a hub for the industry not only for dealers of manufactured homes but also for production of manufactured homes. Through his vision and dedication, Mr. Hayward Luck and his company have been a major factor in the growth of the manufactured housing industry in the State of Maine. the 5th-grade Destination ImagiNation Team from Marcia Buker Elementary School in Richmond on its winning the Dizzy Derby competition for the elementary age level. the Maine Nurse Practitioners Association on the 10th Anniversary of the Independent Practice Act, which established the right to independent practice for Maine nurse practitioners. This Act has significantly broadened access to health care for many Mainers and contributed to the creation of one of the most progressive practice environments in the nation for advanced practice nurses. Nurse practitioners are dedicated professionals who offer a unique combination of nursing and medical service to patients. We extend our congratulations to the more than 850 nurse practitioners in Maine who provide both primary and specialty care; (HLS 577)

the Honorable Maurice D. Anderson, of Oxbow Plantation, former longtime member of the Maine House of Representatives. Mr. Anderson served in the 90th, 91st and 92nd Legislatures, representing the Ashland-Oxbow district in Aroostook County. He then served in the 95th, 96th and 100th Legislatures, representing the Greenville-Monson-Shirley districts of Piscataquis County. He was a former chairman of the Republican Committees of Oxbow Plantation and Greenville as well as a member and past chairman of the Piscataquis County Republican Committee. He retired from Great Northern Paper after 30 years of service in 1973 and served in municipal offices in both Oxbow Plantation and Greenville, where he was a member of the town council for 7 years and Town Moderator for more than 25 years. He was longtime a member of numerous fraternal, religious and civic organizations. We acknowledge his dedicated service to his communities and to the State of Maine. Elks Lodge #964 in Augusta, on the special occasion of its 100th Anniversary, May 3, 2005. Robert Winn, a teacher at Wells Junior High School and cross-country coach at Wells High School, and the following students on raising $5,000 for the York VFW: Erica Boulay, Sarah Cusack, Elizabeth Caron, Thomas Esson, Whitney Fenderson, Clare Fortune-Agan, Jamaica Gilliam (from York Middle School), Justin Grimes, Adam Hamlyn, William Hardy, Peter Hill, Michael Kuna, Rachael Plummer, Shawn Ruel and Brittany Toth. They accepted donations from various civic groups and individuals, and on Veterans Day, 2004 they ran more than 100 miles to raise money for families of Maine soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The money was donated to the Family Organization Program to assist families with hardship cases while their loved ones are serving overseas, and for "care" packages to soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. We acknowledge the unselfish contributions of Mr. Winn and the students and we commend them for their accomplishments; (HLS 589)

Francis W. McMahon, of Millinocket, a United States Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. McMahon was a foreman in the finishing room at Great Northern Paper Company, retiring after 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #80 and a life member of the V.F.W. Post #4154. He raised money for the Lung Association by participating in the Trek Across Maine, and for MS in Texas and in Holland. Mary Martin, the principal of Elm Street School in Mechanic Falls, on being named Elementary School Principal of the Year by the Maine Principals' Association for her outstanding leadership within a rural school and community. She leads by example and sets high expectations for herself and the school staff and students. Ms. Martin attended this school as a child. She has taught within the Oxford Hills School District and began teaching 2nd-grade at the Elm Street School nearly 20 years ago. She has been the principal for 8 years. The school is fortunate to have one of its own return and lead the school with great ability and genuine concern for the staff and students.
