Criteria: Must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants. Criteria: Awarded annually to residents of Prince Edward Island who best meet the following criteria: aged 18 to 30; students are a graduate of a PEI high school and/or have a Grade 12 equivalent and intend to further their full time studies at an accredited Canadian post secondary institution; students must have a documented learning disability such as Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and or Dysgraphia etc. Conditions including AD/HD, Asperger’s Syndrome and other autism spectrum disorders, Cerebral Palsy, and psychiatric conditions do not alone qualify a student for this scholarship. Applicants with these conditions are welcome to apply but must also provide documentation of a specific learning disability; students must demonstrate financial hardship. This award is a renewable scholarship. Ex) a student in 1st year chosen to receive this scholarship may receive the award in the fall of his or her 2nd year providing they have documentation confirming successful completion of all course work. They would then usually receive the award in the fall of their 3rd and 4th years providing successful completion of all course work annually; and then another recipient is chosen.
