3.7 SYSTEM DESIGN
This focuses on the technical or implemented concerns of the system. It addresses the data, process and interface building block from the system designer’s perspective. Based on the user requirements and the details analysis of the new system, the new system must be designed. The design phase of any system is very important, vital and crucial, because the success of any system depends on its specifications. In this phase, the final specifications are used for translating the model into a design of proposed system.
3.7.1 Input Specification
This is an interface between the user and the system that allows the user to enter data. Data input is generally done through standard keyboard or with the mouse in case of combo boxes (or command buttons). At this stage, different screen input is design to guide data entry procedure. The input variables needed are as follows:
Student’s name
Student’s ID(Registration number)
Date of birth
Gender
Address
Mode of entry
Email address
Faculty
Department
Course
Local government
State
Nationality
3.7.2 Output Specification
This also serves as an interface between the user and the system that provide report to the developer. The design specification discusses the problem formulation; it identifies the kind of output expected or required by the user or client, which then guide the designer as what to design. Therefore, for the purpose of this project work; the output specification comprises the effectiveness of the Student’s information system procedure in effectively getting entire information requirement by the Faculty which normally appears the reports of the Faculty. And also to properly maintain all the vital information required, plus additional features for better planning and management of the faculty.
