4.3 RUNNING THE PROGRAM
After the program coding is finished (the program is coded in Visual Basic) and saved into the hard disk of the computer system, and then the program can be run for effective and fast operation. On the hard disk, the program was given the file name “StudentGPA”. The program will be opened for running; from the input screen of the Visual Basic in the menu bar, by choosing Run or by pressing F5 from the keyboard.

4.3.1 New Program Output
This is the reference form that contains all the necessary student information after running the program. The figure below shows the out put of students information form.

CHAPTER FIVE

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

5.1 INTRODUCTION
This chapter is aimed at giving a comprehensive summary of the previous chapters, along with the concluding and recommending parts.

5.2 SUMMARY
The importance of database management system cannot be overemphasized. This is because they contribute immensely towards the creation, access, storage, retrieval of database (collection of interrelated or persistent data) in the computer.

Therefore, this software was developed with the view of creating an efficient system that makes it convenient for the storage and retrieval of student’s particular records and grades records. Apart from that, it is made flexible so as to give room for modification, addition and deletion of stored data which is highly integrated. As such the system was designed to protect the integrity of the data.

Furthermore, the system was tested, debugged and the results produced were valid.

5.3 CONCLUSION
Database is usually designed to manage large bodies of information. This involves

  1. Provision of mechanism for information manipulation e.g. files.

  2. Provision for the safety of information in the database.

  3. Concurrency control if the system is shared by so many users.

This system was developed such that it is highly secured, the users of the system are authorized before they can have access to it and interact with the system without any computer expert or programmer or any undue effort from their side.

Whenever there is any failure, the system was designed to restore the data to its initial state before the failure and is quite flexible to meet the faculty’s changing needs.

In a nutshell, this is an information system which assists the faculty to manage, maintain and safeguard the student’s information.
