Gala Evening – South African cuisine and wine
Invitees to include 400 highly placed political, business and military contacts
Business seminar on board - topic to be selected that is relevant to Singapore/South Africa interests and that is related to NEPAD priorities. Possible industries include construction, harbour management, mining, infrastructure development. To invite experts on the subjects from South Africa. To invite cabinet ministers to officiate at these functions
To pursue local zoo to have African animals
Performance on board – South African group to perform for invited guests in the tourism, arts and academic fields
Fashion show - to showcase South Africa’s jewellery industry.
Exhibition – Featuring South Africa’s sophisticated infrastructure and of those South African companies that are already making a difference in Africa, but also have stakes in Asia. SASOL, Murray and Roberts, SAPPI, ABSA, NEDCOR, International SOS and SAFAIR are amongst the South African companies that are already represented in Singapore and to be approached to assist with the exhibition and to make presentations. The mining industry in South Africa is also of interest to Singaporean investors and their contribution would be of relevance.
Alternative
Should the visit of the Naval Vessel not materialise the Embassy intends to have the same programme culminating in a grand function at the Singapore Zoo

Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth
Focus on political liberation, trade and investment.
To promote of NEPAD to invite members of the NEPAD Secretariat to participate. To attempt to ensure Ministerial attendance at some of the seminars. The Australian-South African Business Council, South African friendship groups, including former anti-Apartheid activists, prominent politicians, business persons, academics and the expatriate South African community in Australia will be invited to these seminars.
