Working Conditions
To investigate the influence of the work environment in sustaining socioeconomic differences in job capacity among municipal employees. Physical stress had the largest influence on job abilities and socioeconomic inequalities. Mental stress was not linked to impaired work capability in terms of socioeconomic disparity. When it comes to work competence, attitudes matter as much as physical fitness. Inadequate work capacity among manual employees does not prove a permanent social gap. Insufficient study is done on socioeconomic differences in work capacity and the variables that contribute to them (Work
conditions and socioeconomic inequalities in work ability, 2003).
