The student must be a woman with a physical disability.
The student must be currently accepted to a graduate program working towards a Master's degree or above in an accredited college or university in the United States.
The applicant must be a member of AAPD.
The student must be willing, as an ELA Scholar, to network on the ELA listserv. This will enhance the ELA Scholar's support base in professional and advocacy arenas.

AmeriGlide Achiever Scholarship
AmeriGlide Achiever Scholarship is offered to full-time college students who use wheelchairs; provides financial assistance for books or other school-related supplies to deserving mobility-challenged students.
Paralyzed Veterans of America Scholarship Program
This disability scholarship program offers scholarships to veterans with paralysis. This program was originally devised to provide some financial reprieve for Paralyzed Veterans members and their families so that they may achieve their goals in the academic arena. The result of this competitive process is a monetary scholarship to assist them in reaching their post-secondary educational goals.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Applicants must be either Paralyzed Veterans members, the spouse of a Paralyzed Veterans member, or an unmarried child under 24 years of age who is dependent (as defined by the IRS) on the member for principal support.
Applicant must be a citizen of the United States.
Applicants must be accepted or enrolled as a full-time or part-time student in a degree program at an accredited US college or university.
Applicant must be able to demonstrate academic achievement.
2010-2011 scholarship applications are now available.

Peg-Leg Pirate Scholarship for Amputee Students
The goal of the scholarship program of "Ye Notorious Krew of the Peg-Leg Pirate" is to assist amputees in furthering their education. That education may be provided by an accredited college or university, community college, or vocational-trade-technical school that is state licensed. The scholarships have a value between $1000 and $2000. Application Deadline: June 1, 2010
ELA Scholarship
The ELA Scholarship program provides financial assistance from $500-$2000 for women with physical disabilities who are in graduate school allowing them to pursue their degree, and develop their leadership role within the disability community. The scholarship awards are based on merit.
Each applicant will be required to submit an application that includes the following: an application form, college transcript, two letters of academic recommendation, a disability verification form, and an essay. Scholarship Program for Amputee College Students
The National Amputation Foundation is proud to offer six (6) $500.00 scholarships to college students with a major limb amputation, who will be attending an accredited university as a full time student. National Amputee Golf Association Educational Scholarship Grant
One of the goals of our Association is to provide educational assistance to an amputee member or his or her dependent(s). The primary purpose of this grant is to assist an amputee member or their dependent in the payment of tuition and fees while pursuing an undergraduate or two year vocational/technical degree at an accredited college, vocational/technical school or institution.
The amount of the grant for a four-year Bachelors' degree will be $2,000.00/year (maximum). If an individual is selected, the grant will be issued each year for a maximum of four (4) years or until graduation, whichever occurs first. For a two-year non-Bachelors' degree or technical/associates degree, the award will be for a maximum of $1,000/year or $500/semester. Deadline: September 1, 2010
