Applicant: City of Lake Mills Project Name: Lake Mills Family Aquatic Center City: Lake Mills (Population 2,140) Date of Award: 4/10/2002 Total Project Cost: $123,335 Amount Requested: $60,000 Amount Awarded: $59,000 Project Description: This project is part of the Lake Mills Family Aquatic Center. Able to accommodate 500 people, the facility will include zero depth entry, diving boards and slides. CAT funds will assist with a new 190-foot slide. Applicant: Winnebago County Historical Society Project Name: Heritage Park of North Iowa City: Forest City (Population 4,362) Date of Award: 2/13/2002 Total Project Cost: $946,429 Amount Requested: $388,299 Amount Awarded: $200,000 Project Description: A two-phase project, the Heritage Park of North Iowa will consist of an 1800s church, a country schoolhouse, a sawmill, a barn and petting zoo, and a large collection of steam-powered tractors. The state’s investment will aid the project’s second phase that involves locating, moving, renovating and building a series of buildings that will anchor the Heritage Park. Winneshiek Applicant: Winneshiek County Conservation Board Project Name: Paving the Way to Our Success City: Fort Atkinson (Population 389) Date of Award: 3/14/2007 Total Project Cost: $1,603,668 Amount Requested: $593,668 Amount Awarded: $450,000 Project Description: This project brings together three communities and two counties to capitalize on northeast Iowa’s small town hospitality, locally owned small businesses, scenic countryside and existing natural resource based recreation infrastructure. This project will complete the Prairie Farmer Trail and connect it to the Prairie Springs Recreational Trail to develop a 22.5 mile regional tourist trail.

In addition, this project will include plans for completing the final small portion of the trail to connect the full loop around the City of Decorah. Other components of this project will include land acquisition and easements, trail development, bridge construction, development of handicapped fishing access points and road and parking improvements. Applicant: Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum Project Name: Vesterheim Collections Study Center City: Decorah (Population 8,172) Date of Award: 8/10/2005 Total Project Cost: $438,472 Amount Requested: $219,371 Amount Awarded: $150,000 Project Description: This project includes development of a new Collections Study area adjacent to the existing Museum facility. The Vesterheim will renovate an existing building for this purpose. Work to be done includes electrical work and lighting improvements, replacement of the heating/cooling system, running a water main to the facility, and façade improvements. New fire and alarm systems will be added to the facility, and 2 new offices will be constructed as well; one office for a research study area and one for collections management staff. Upon completion, the building will serve as a visitor center, provide office space, a brochure display area, restrooms and a gift shop. The building has been nominated for the National Register of Historic Places, and proper rehabilitation standards will be used in its restoration. Woodbury Applicant: City of Sioux City Project Name: Cone Park Development Project Date of Award: 5/11/16 City: Sioux City (Population 82,602) Total Project Cost: $3,809,077 Amount Requested: $316,684 Amount Awarded: $300,000 Project Description: Park features will include open green space, a tubing hill, ice-skating rink/splash pad and four season’s day lodge. This phase of the project also includes snowmaking equipment and lighting.

The current wading pool will be replaced with a zero-depth entry wading pool with attached receiving area for the new waterslide. The main pool will receive a liner, new stairs and ADA compliant chair lift. Applicant: Children’s Museum of Siouxland Project Name: Children’s Museum of Siouxland City: Sioux City (Population 82,684) Date of Award: 4/11/2014 Total Project Cost: $5,827,752 Amount Requested: $932,908 Amount Awarded: $900,000 Project Description: This project includes the construction of a new 16,000-square-foot children’s museum on Pearl Street in Sioux City. The facility will focus on STEM (science, engineering, technology and math) based exhibits and programming for children ages six months to 10-years-old. Applicant: City of Moville Project Name: Moville Main Street Pavilion City: Moville (Population 1,618) Date of Award: 5/8/2013 Total Project Cost: $123,137 Amount Requested: $46,706 Amount Awarded: $25,000 Project Description: This project includes the construction of a park pavilion that will contain an updated kitchen with hot and cold water, food preparation area, fully handicap-accessible restrooms, and covered open air seating for approximately 200-250 people. In addition, a sand volleyball court will be relocated in the park. The wall will include overhangs, a bouldering area and a campus wall. The project will involve site development, utility connections, and building construction for a nearly 14,000 square foot facility. The expansion allows for more space to house the library’s extensive publication collection, more room for youth and young adult programming and additional computer access points. The facility will be constructed in downtown Rowan and will replace the existing library, which is deteriorating. The existing bathhouse will be demolished and a new bathhouse will be constructed. Additional space will be added to create a zero-entry design. The filter and gutter system for the pool will be renovated and replaced. The pool will be fitted with a number of pieces of recreational equipment which will make this an attractive, safe, location for visitors to Clarion. Included in these amenities are; play equipment, spray umbrellas, waterslide, tube waterslide, dual drop slides, mushroom waterfall, geysers and an arch jet.
