OBITUARY

William Ray Oliver, age 93, of Forest Park, GA passed away January 19, 2009 at Westbury Health and Rehab where he was a resident and being treated for dementia. Mr. Oliver was born in Red Oak, GA the son of the late Ella Frances Payton and Edgar Ray Oliver. He was a member of Ash Street Baptist Church, and a past member of the Moose Lodge of Forest Park. He enjoyed bowling, deer hunting, and fishing and was an avid walker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Elenora Hall Oliver; grandson, Robert Richard Hall and several siblings. Survivors are his children, Robert “Bobby” Oliver and wife Jane of Hampton and Ruth Oliver Drew of McDonough; grandchildren, Warren Hall, Woody Hall, Frank Hall, Darrell Oliver, Steven Oliver and Deyna Lewis; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Catherine Ramey of Jasper, GA and Evelyn Hart of Lincoln, CA and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4 – 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice. “Mrs. Beryl Payton Greene age 90 of 277 Allen Dr., Molena, Ga, died May 9, 2010 at Molena Health and Rehab. Mrs. Greene was born on April 24, 1920 in Thomaston, Ga, to the late Thomas and Eugenia Payton. She and her late husband S. Floyd Greene opened the Molena Nursing Home in September 1967. Prior to 1967 Mrs. Greene worked for Curtis 1000 in Atlanta, Ga, for many years. She was a member of Molena Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Mrs. Sandra and Lamar West of Molena Ga, sons and daughters-in-law Mr. Mike and Becky Greene of Molena, Ga, Mr. Richard and Frances Greene of Decatur, Ga, sister-in-law Mrs. Eleanor Greene of Meansville, Ga, grandchildren Patricia West Asbury, Richard Lamar Greene Jr., Denise Harrod, Scott Greene, Brian Greene; 9 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday May 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Meansville Congregational Cemetery. OBITUARY
Funeral services for Ms. Trellis Maxine Payton Stowe, 81, of Pinedale Street, were held Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Coogler and the Rev. Ed Kilgore officiating. Burial followed in Crystal Hill Cemetery. Ms. Stowe died Sunday, June 18, 2006, at her residence. Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Ms. Stowe was a native of Upson County. She was born on June 17, 1925, to the late Thomas R. and Carrie Oliver Payton. She was a retired practical nurse and was also a homemaker. Mrs. Stowe was a member of Pritchett Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Mr. Wade (Jane) Stowe of Athens and Mr. Richard (Janet) Stowe of Dawson; a daughter, Miss Genia Stowe of Thomaston; a sister, Mrs. Burl Greene of Molena; a half-brother, Mr. Thomas R. Payton of Villa Rica; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
