November 16th (4th) &17th (5th) During Recess in computer lab - Info on events and intro to events
Monday, December 5th (lunch) - Essay due, (email essay to cheath@mayfieldschools.org ); or turn in to Mrs. Heath at Millridge Elementary & Event quiz.
Friday, December 9th - Team announced (AM announcements)
Tryouts will be 2 parts:

A quiz on 4 random events held at Millridge. You should come prepared to tell me everything you know about the event. (1 point for each item listed)

Science Olympiad Essay-Elementary

Assignment: Write a well-constructed essay (3 paragraphs) that explains:

Why you would be a good member for the Science Olympiad Team

Why you want to be on the Science Olympiad Team.

Please include the following: your availability for practices, your availability on Science Olympiad day (Saturday, March 4, 2016), an understanding of the commitment as a team member, and discussion with a parent.
*The Science Olympiad Team will be chosen based on the following: completed Points from tests, essay, responsibility, behavior, Science performance, Academic performance, Parent signature.
**Once the team is chosen, the practices will start in late December with study materials for over Christmas break. Actual face to face practices will begin first week in January.
