After recently unveiling the title, date & cover art for his debut album, “BIG BABY D.R.A.M.,” chart topping singer/songwriter/rapper D.R.A.M. releases the visual for “Cash Machine,” which will appear on “BIG BABY D.R.A.M.” when it’s released on October 21st. The video – which D.R.A.M. premiered last night at the “Samsung presents Live at 837” event – was shot in Atlanta, GA directed by Lacey Duke & is another fun video that D.R.A.M. has become known for, with no shortage of colorful cash provided Mister E. The video’s release comes on the heels of another milestone for D.R.A.M., as his hit single “Broccoli” is currently the #1 song on the Rhythmic radio charts. Watch the video for “Cash Machine” here.
Last night, D.R.A.M. – who Entertainment Weekly called one of their “9 new artists to watch” – took over Samsung’s 837 space in downtown New York City as part of their “Samsung presents Live at 837” series, where he premiered the “Cash Machine” video, participated in an intimate Q&A with acclaimed hip-hop personality Sway Calloway, played songs from his new album & closed the night with a performance of some of his biggest hits, which had the packed venue on their feet & dancing. D.R.A.M. will celebrate the release of “BIG BABY D.R.A.M.” by making his national late night television debut with a performance of “Broccoli” on CONAN, slated for October 25th (check local listings.) Hampton, VA-raised D.R.A.M., born Shelley Massenburg-Smith, stepped into the music scene two years ago. D.R.A.M. (which stands for “Does Real Ass Music”) is neither strictly a singer nor a rapper, instead, he’s both. He’s inspired by a range of soundscapes and artists, from George Clinton, Bilal to Dipset and Snoop Dogg. He’s garnered success with his #1EpicSummerEP, released in September 2014, which featured the viral single “Cha Cha.” Since then, he’s scaled down & re-released the project as #1EpicEP. GAHDAMN!
