BEGINS JANUARY 31ST IN AUSTIN, TX “SCHOOL NIGHTS” EP AVAILABLE NOW
Atlantic recording artist Chappell Roan has released a new acoustic video of her single, “Good Hurt.” The intimate visual showcases the “stunningly melancholy sound packaged with lyrical wisdom and overflowing with out-of-the-box pop potential,”as stated by Ones To Watch. The video is available now on Chappell’s official YouTube page and follows the recent release of the “Good Hurt (Aevion Remix).”
“Good Hurt” is of course featured on Chappell Roan’s Atlantic debut EP, “SCHOOL NIGHTS” available now at all DSPs and streaming services. The intoxicating single is joined by an equally compelling companion video, viewable HERE. “Good Hurt” was hailed by INTERVIEW in its exclusive premiere as a “strong indicator of (Roan’s) imminent popularity…Her pop sound is infused with a dark and unsettling tone that underscores her intense, somber lyrics, and she has the aesthetic to match it: gothic, feminine, and eerie – all safeguarding the young artist’s mystique.”
Chappell Roan will follow her recent debut concert tour alongside fellow Atlantic recording artist Vance Joy by joining Declan McKenna for a U.S. trek set to get underway January 31st at Austin, TX’s Stubb’s and then traveling through the end of March (see attached itinerary).
Now 19, Roan has crafted a remarkable debut EP, fraught with powerful performance and creative vision, illuminated by her dynamic vocals and vivid lyricism. “SCHOOL NIGHTS” offers a compelling first look at a brave and brilliant new artist sure to resonate in the days, weeks, months, and years to come.
“SCHOOL NIGHTS” reaped ecstatic praise upon release, with Blackbook declaring it to be “as stunning a debut as we’ve heard in all of 2017.” “The five-track record feels a little bit like an album from Lana Del Rey or Lorde,” raved Pop Crush, “but don't get it twisted: these songs are all Chappell, who exudes an air of teenage mystique and emotional rawness all her own.” “The entirety of ‘SCHOOL NIGHTS’ is brilliantly executed,” enthused Pop Dust, “and Roan's writing showcases a confounding level of maturity for someone her age… It's a rare thing that a musician comes out and produces music so fully-formed and artistically fulfilling on her first try, but Chappell Roan has done it, in a way that's eerily similar to Lorde's meteoric rise in 2013.”
