WINDOWS NT 4.0 SERVER INSTALLATION

1. 
   Turn of the computer

   Place Windows NT Server Setup Disk #1 in drive A

   Turn on the computer, which boots from Setup Disk #1

   Insert Windows NT Server Setup Disk #2 into drive A

    Enter your group name for Name and MIS for Organization

    Insert a blank disk into drive A to create an Emergency Repair Disk

    Remove all disks from floppy and CD-ROM drives and click Restart Computer button

    Press [Ctrl]+{Alt]+[Del] at the same time to reboot the NT Server

    Log on using Administrator account and your group name as password

Setting Account Policies

   Place a check in the box before the line “User must log on in order to change password

Creating Accounts

1. Click User menu on the top of the screen and click New User

   Enter your full name (without space) for Full Name

   Enter Network Administrator for Description

   Enter your full name (without space) for Password and Confirm Password

   Do not place any check in the boxes before the lines “User Must Change Password at Next Logon’, “ User Cannot Change Password”, “Password Never Expires”, and “Account Disabled”

   Click Group button

   Highlight Administrator and click Add button

   Click OK option to save the settings or changes

Creating Groups

   Highlight a name of your group to be included as a member from the right box and click add (you may need to repeat this step to include all your group members in the group)

Creating Rights

   Click Policies menu on the top of the screen and click User Rights

   Highlight the line “Access This Computer From Network” and click Add button

   Highlight the line “Managers MIS Managers” and click add button

   Click OK button
   

5. 
   Click OK button to save the changes
   

6. Click User menu on the top of the screen and click exit
