Job Description Job title: Nursery Assistant Job description: St Donats Nursery School is an outstanding early years provider for children aged from 2 ½ years to reception age. Set within the campus of Atlantic College (a United World College), at St Donats Castle near Llantwit Major on the Vale of Glamorgan Heritage Coast, the children at St Donats Nursery School are offered the unique opportunity of using the grounds of the castle. These include a lawned moat, tiered ornamental gardens and a private beach. International students from the college regularly visit the nursery, introducing the children to a wide and diverse range of cultures, music, costume and language. St Donats Nursery School is looking to recruit a dedicated, energetic and fun Nursery Assistant who is passionate about the outdoors and early years learning. The right candidate for this position will work as part of our team to: Apply the principles of the Foundation Phase, inspiring and challenging children's potential for learning. Provide safe, stimulating group play that meets the social, linguistic, creative, physical, imaginative, and emotional needs of the child. Ensure that the nursery school provides quality care and education. Encourage good working relationships between children, parents and staff. Provide and maintain equal opportunities for all staff, parents and children. Ensure that our playgroup environment remains healthy and safe. Complete any administrative duties as required. Comply with industry standards and relevant legislation and work with relevant authorities as required by the Nursery Manager. Develop and evolve of the nursery. Promote the use of the Welsh language to meet the Foundation Phase requirements or be willing to learn Welsh and then achieve this. Hours of work: Hours will depend on nursery ratio needs. .
Level 2 Diploma (or higher) in Children's Care, Learning and Development QCF or an accepted equivalent with at least six months experience in the sector at this level. Salary: In line with the national living minimum wage. Location: Atlantic College, St Donats, Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan, CF61 1WF.
