LEONIA SCHOOL CONCERTS (If you would like to attend either concert and need a ride, Carmey has agreed to drive the Senior bus to take you there. Call Marion at (201)302-9660 to make your bus reservation. Concert is ‘free’. **’LEONIA WALKS’ at Overpeck Park (weather permitting) or Riverside Square. Call Bus line at (201) 302-9667 for 9 a.m. pick-up! OUT ON THE TOWN JAZZ JAM SESSION AT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF LEONIA – 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. FRIDAY. MAY 9 AMERICAN LEGION, POST 1, LEONIA ANNUAL ‘FLOWER SALE’ _SATURDAY, MAY 10 CAESARS, ATLANTIC CITY WEDNESDAY, MAY 14 DO/AC! Join us for a day-out in Atlantic City. Come shop at the outlets a block away from Caesars, take a walk on the Boardwalk or try your luck in the Casino. Cost of trip - $30.00. Slot play bonus - $25.00. Bus pick-up from Leonia Recreation at 9 a.m. EMPIRE CLUB ‘ITALIAN FEAST’_________________________________________ THURSDAY, MAY 15 Music and dancing with Peter Lieberman. Family style luncheon: Eggplant Rollatini, Penne with fresh Tomato & Basil Sauce, Caesar Salad, Polpettone (Tuscan Meatloaf}, Chicken Cacciatore, Italian Rustic Sausage, Roasted Potatoes, Vegetables, Dessert, unlimited beer, wine & soda. Cost - $29.00. Cash or checks made payable to the Empire Club are being accepted at the Recreation Office. Transportation will be provided. LEONIA HIGH SCHOOL SERVICE CLUB DINNER FOR SENIOR CITIZENS (reservation deadline – May 9th ) FRIDAY, MAY 16 We have been invited by the Service Club of Leonia High School for dinner and entertainment. Reservations for this event can be made by calling the Senior Coordinator’s phone line at (201) 302-9660. When making your reservation, please specify whether or not you need transportation to and from the High School. Bus transportation will be provided. Home pick-ups begin at 5:15 p.m. GARAGE SALE – PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF LEONIA – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. SATURDAY, MAY 17 ARBOR DAY / LEONIA DAY IN WOOD PARK – 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. SUNDAY, MAY 18 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING TUESDAY, MAY 20 Meet and greet Leonia’s local officials and enjoy a light lunch at the Leonia Library at 11:30 a.m. We will be using our Senior bus for home and Glenwood Retirement Housing pick-ups. Trip includes a free buffet, free coffee at Starbucks, $25.00 slot play and an entry in their $1,000.00 Senior Day Slot tournament. Checks to be made payable to Englewood Cliffs Seniors. Bus pick-up from Leonia Recreation – 9:15 a.m. MEMORIAL DAY PARADE BEGINS 11:30 a.m. AT LEONIA MIDDLE SCHOOL, FOLLOWED BY CEREMONY IN WOOD PARK & RECEPTION IN LEGION HALL THEREAFTER ___________________________ MONDAY, MAY 26 WOMAN’S CLUB GARAGE SALE – BOROUGH ANNEX – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. SATURDAY, JUNE 7 THE ‘BEST’ OF HOBOKEN TRIP FRIDAY, JUNE 13 We will be joining the Tenafly Seniors for a guided tour of Hoboken (the ‘Mile Square City), now one of New York’s vibrant and desirable suburbs. For trip itinerary, see sign-up sheet at the Rec or call Marion at (201) 302-9660. Lunch at Hoboken’s Amanda’s Restaurant located in a Victorian brownstone. Cost of trip – $66.00. Checks made payable to the Tenafly Senior Center. Bus pick-up in Leonia at 9 a.m. ATLANTIC CITY (CASINO TO BE ANNOUNCED) WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11 ANNUAL TRIP TO SPRING LAKE (please note change in date) WEDNESDAY, JULY 23 Join us for our annual trip to the Jersey shore. Cost of trip - $54.00. Luncheon at The Mill in Spring Lake Heights. More info next month.
