Alverno College

Alverno College (AC) is an independent, Catholic, liberal arts college for women, founded in 1887. Located in Milwaukee, the college offers Weekday and Weekend courses in over 60 program areas (majors, minors, and associate degrees) in seven academic divisions: Arts, Communication & Technology; Behavioral Sciences; Humanities; Business and Management; Education; Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Technology; and Nursing. Alverno offers Masters degree programs in business, education and nursing to both women and men. Alverno College has an enrollment of about 2,700 students of all ages.
Alverno College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, the Wisconsin State Department of Public Instruction, the Wisconsin Board of Nursing, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, the National Association of Schools of Music and the American Music Therapy Association.


Cardinal Stritch University

Cardinal Stritch University (CSU) is a Catholic, Franciscan, coeducational, comprehensive college founded in 1937 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi. More than 60 graduate and undergraduate degree programs are offered within the Arts & Sciences, Teacher Education, Nursing and Business & Management Divisions. The campus is located just 10 minutes north of the city of Milwaukee in a quiet, suburban location. With two regional campuses and several satellite offices, Stritch is Wisconsin's second-largest independent university. The Wisconsin Region's main campus is in suburban Milwaukee. The Minnesota Region is based in Edina, Minn. Classes also are held in convenient sites throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota.

CSU has a total enrollment of 6,995 (2007-2008). It serves about 3,100 undergraduate students and around 3,800 graduate students.

Cardinal Stritch University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges & Schools; National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education; Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction; National League for Nursing; Wisconsin State Board of Nursing.



Concordia University Wisconsin

Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) is a 4-year, NCA-accredited, co-educational, liberal arts school offering 55 undergraduate majors of study, 23 additional independent minors, 10 graduate programs and 5 adult education undergraduate majors. Concordia's attractive campus consists of 192 acres on the shore of Lake Michigan, just 15 minutes north of downtown Milwaukee. Founded in 1881, the university and its 17 adult education centers and classroom locations (in Appleton, Beloit, Green Bay, Hales Corners, Kenosha, Madison, Mequon, Milwaukee Midtown, Milwaukee South Center, Racine, Sheboygan, West Bend, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, New Orleans, St. Louis County and Wausau) are home to approximately 5,933 undergraduate and graduate, traditional as well as non-traditional students from 44 states and 26 foreign countries.

Concordia is one of ten colleges or universities in the Concordia University System, which is owned and operated by The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. CUW is accredited and approved by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, the Department of Public Instruction, the National League for Nursing, the American Bar Association, the American Accreditation Counselor for Occupational Therapy Education, Commission on Accreditation in P.T. Education (APTA), Council on Social Work Education, and the Association of Collegiate Business Schools & Programs.





Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design

he Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) is Wisconsin's only four-year independent college devoted exclusively to the education of professional designers and fine artists. Accredited to award the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (HLC), MIAD’s rigorous educational experience is grounded in integrated learning, professional preparation, and community service. Founded in 1974, for 30 years MIAD’s campus has provided a cornerstone of Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward neighborhood.


MIAD faculty are influential designers and artists, writers, curators and researchers with deep connections to Milwaukee’s creative community; all faculty are dedicated to the teaching and mentoring of undergraduates in a supportive educational environment. Illustration and Industrial Design are MIAD’s largest majors, with the Industrial Design program ranked in the top ten in the nation. Communication Design and Interior Architecture + Design are the other design majors. MIAD’s current Fine Arts majors are Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Photography, Sculpture, Time-Based Media and Integrated Studio Arts. In Fall 2015, a single fine arts major, “New Studio Practice,” will be implemented, featuring student-driven, integrated learning across media.



Mount Mary University

Mount Mary University (MMU) is a Catholic college for women sponsored by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. A core curriculum in the liberal arts allows the student to become familiar with major intellectual disciplines. Pre-professional and professional programs enable her to prepare for a career of service to others while achieving economic independence and cultural enrichment for herself.

Mount Mary's nearly 1700 students represent various social backgrounds, ethnic origins and age groups. The college is located on 80 acres in a residential area on the northwest side of Milwaukee.

Mount Mary University is approved by the state of Wisconsin with full power to confer degrees, and by the Wisconsin State Department of Public Instruction for Teachers' Certificates. The university is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges. It also has full approval or accreditation for particular baccalaureate programs from the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education, the American Dietetic Association, the Council on Social Work Education, and the Foundation for Interior Design Education Research.



Sacred Heart School of Theology

Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology (SHSST) is the largest national seminary whose primary mission is the preparation of adult men with life experience for the Roman Catholic priesthood. Seminarians’ ages range from the 20s to the 60s and they must be sponsored by a diocese or religious congregation. SHSST awards a Master of Divinity degree and offers additional programs in Hispanic studies and English as a Second Language as well as continuing education. Sacred Heart in cooperation with Cardinal Stritch University offers a pre-theology program which provides the possibility of a combined Bachelor of Arts/Master of Divinity degree in five-and-a-half to six years. The seminary also awards a Master of Arts in theology degree, a program open to lay students.

Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada and by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.





Saint Francis Seminary

Saint Francis Seminary (SFS) is one of the first Roman Catholic seminaries in the United States, was founded in 1845 by the first bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Milwaukee, John Martin Henni.

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee sponsors Saint Francis Seminary as its center for preparing men for the priesthood. As a community of prayer, worship and learning, the Seminary provides prospective priests with the spiritual foundation, theological understanding, and pastoral competencies required to serve collaboratively and effectively in a Church and society of many races and cultures. Through its library services, the Seminary also extends its resources to the Archdiocese and to the wider Church.





Wisconsin Lutheran College

Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) is a four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The college has a two-semester academic year and awards the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees with liberal arts and professional majors and several pre-professional programs.

Wisconsin Lutheran College is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The programs of teacher education are approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
