It all started in 2000

The history of FIT FOOD started in 2000, after finishing their studies (production) Anthony Verhaeghe & (marketing-sales) Gregory Verhaeghe, they went into his father’s meat business who was specialised in export of meat and meat products. From one to another moment the meat export business collapsed, because of the dioxin crisis.

Anthony Verhaeghe started a new production plant in Belgium, with the same staff and technicians who were already 30 years in the business with a large experience. With their know-how of the meat business, they developed new vegetarian products and organic vegetarian products.
The production company produces the vegetarian FIT FOOD products under licence of the company Linck who is the owner of the registered trade-mark FIT FOOD. Linck is the worldwide sales company for the FIT FOOD products.

Research

A year was based on research, how to make a good tasty product without meat and based on organic ingredients. We looked around which kind of organic vegetarian food was already available on the market all over Europe. There were already different kind of products, most of them were based on soy, seitan and tofu and there was a large range of quorn products.

After research we started to develop products based on wheat and vegetables, while the consumer asked for a product with different basic ingredients.
All our products were tested in an external lab for vegetarian and organic food.

We got the Organic Guarantee Certificates from the national Institute in Belgium who controles the organic ingredients.

We started to sell our products in the organic shops as a test. Seven years ago we went to every exhibition of organic food in Europe and in the UAE where our products were introduced and tested. The reactions were very positive.

Brand

Since 2012 years we offer the brand FIT FOOD which is:

  • based on wheat, cereals, vegetables & eggwhite

  • vegetarian

  • organic

  • no soy

  • the ingredients free from GMO

  • rich in Omega-3

  • low cholesterol

In 2003 our production site moved to Drongen (50km from Brussels and Antwerp).

Quality

The production place has been controlled several times by a very select organism in the food inspection named Loyds, that organism does audits for the retail market specially for the largest supermarket chains as Wal Mart, Real, Edeka, Carrefour, GB, HIT, Coop, Famila, Metro, Makro, Spar, Bioplanet - Colruyt, etc.

For the production of our products we are following the very strict instructions of the Haccp & BRC.
In 2008 FIT FOOD moved again to a totally new production unit in Tournai. Situated in the french speaking part of Belgium. The new production unit will be conform to the highest level of hygiene standards of BRC5.
From day to day we are looking to improve the high quality norms for all of our products. It starts from the basic:

  • Buying the best organic ingredients

  • Optimal stocking of the goods in our refrigerators max. 4°C

  • The latest installation of machinery, for the production, cooking, slicing and packaging of our products.

  • Looking for the best cooling transport conditions to deliver the products to the consumer.

The Waffle Factory concept
An indoor (shopping centre) or outdoor (busy street) sales kiosk, where mouth-watering sweet waffles (Liège Waffles, Waffines, Wapitis, and Brussels Waffles) and savoury waffles (LunchWaf), seasoned with herbs from Provence and with a carefully selected and proportioned range of fillings of the customer’s choice, are made in full view of the public.
Although the shops are small (ranging from 20 to 70 m2), the production process is precise, owing to the material chosen and in some cases built exclusively for Waffle Factory. The design of the outlets is a product of Waffle Factory’s development, warm and welcoming like the products themselves.
Takeaway waffles, easy to eat when on the move and menus for consumption on the premises (shops with a small table area).
Waffle Factory ® is very much a working environment, completely independent and with a floor area of at least 20 m². The concept, process and equipment have all been designed down to the last detail.
The different Waffle Factory ® doughs are prepared in a double-arm mixer reminiscent of the way bakers worked in times gone by.
The mixes are then carefully divided by hand into portions to make the dough pieces.
These dough pieces are allowed to rise in a fermentation chamber and are then ready to be filled (in the case of the LunchWaf) and cooked under optimum conditions. The whole production process takes place in full view of the customers, not only enabling them to watch an interesting performance, but also demonstrating the freshness of the products and full compliance with all health and food safety standards.
Waffle Factory exclusive waffles – an impulse purchase, satisfying desire and providing a treat for the consumer at low cost.
Waffle Factory – reinventing the waffle

Enzymes are proteins manufactured by living organisms that act as biological catalysts. Most industrial processes involving standard catalysts only operate efficiently under extreme physical conditions. The enzyme has the capacity to accelerate natural reactions.

Enzymes can have different sources: bacterial, fungal, animal or vegetal.
These eco-friendly catalysts are very specific in their action and operate in mild conditions.
The uses of natural enzymes are constantly rising to answer food demand and pharmaceutical needs.

Traditional and family business, the Blaugies brewery was created by Pierre-Alex Carlier and Marie-Robert Pourtois. The succession has already been ensured by their children: Kevin Carlier, the brewer and Cédric Carlier, the restaurant owner. The original materials are: a big saucepan, a burner, a carboy, the advice of several brewers and the professor Devreux allowed the creation of the recipe of the Moneuse beer. The convencing results, the friends" craze for the product, lead to the creation of the gyle by the Ateliers MEURA from Tournai.

For four years, the bottling was mainly handmade, the washing, the corking, the wiring and the labelling of the bottles were handmade. In 1992, the Blaugies brewery invested in an industrial bottling chain. It"s precisely at that moment, that the owners"children chose their studies according to their desire to take the succession. Today, the brewery ensures a 5.600 liters production per month. Extension opportunities are also foreseen.

Bonnet's nurseries are a wholesale nursery producing a range of trees from young plants to semi-mature trees.
We grow a lot of varieties of trees, as Ash, Oak, Beech, Birch, Chestnut, Lime, Hornbeam, Maple, Sycamore, Walnut etc. They range in size from whips up to 40/45 cm, semi-mature root-balled trees. We also produce beech hedging, conifers and fruit trees. We are situated in Lesdain near city of Tournai (15 km).
For over 30 years we have concentrated on producing trees of the highest quality. Modern methods of production are now employed and modern machinery combined with good husbandry has resulted in environmentally sound methods of operation.
At Bonnet Nurseries we sell only what we grow and we put a lot of care and attention into our nursery work. We carry out our own propogation, which is mainly summer budding, and with regular pruning, caning and good selection, we are able to keep our standards high.
We pay particular attention to correct handling of plants during the lifting season, always avoiding drying out and exposure to frost.
For over 50 years we have grown many varieties of apples trees, and have selected the most suitable varieties regarding colour, flavour, ease of growing and suitability
