The Atlantean Calendar:
The scholars of the league of magic’s in Atlantea are credited with having invented the Atlantean calendar many eons ago. The calendar was in fact inspired by Thoth himself, and is the basis of the Gregorian calendar which was created by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 as a corrected version of the Julian calendar. The Julian is a solar calendar introduced by Julius Caesar in Rome in 46 B.C., having a year of 12 months and 365 days and a leap year of 366 days every fourth year. In the year 46 BC, the Greek Sosigenes convinced Julius Caesar to reform the Roman Calendar to a more manageable form. It was Thoth’s influence upon Julius Caesar that created this calendar. In fact it was a recreation of a calendar that humans had lost from memory millennia ago. This calendar is brought forth by Thoth to the outside world each cataclysm. It has been in use for 25 million years. Only Thoth knows the real date via this calendar. He does not particularly find it personally relevant, as he tends to use other points of reference discovered in his travels throughout the universe. Every fifteen thousand years the calendar begins anew. It is otherwise as our calendar. The current eon is 1666 the current year is 14,998.
The Astral Plane Revealed:
The astral plane is a barren place. There are few residents in its wastes. Most that travel here are gods or powerful magi, all of whom are attached to a host in the lands. Although the planets of the land and the astral are infinite it is extraordinarily rare that malicious aliens visit earth. The only forces that regularly move in the astral plane are certain powerful undead created by the power of necromancy. These horrific beasts hunt for lesser stones and report their location to their master Lothos. While the astral plane is a shadowy representation of the lands, there is no substance. Therefore movement in the astral is by will, and physical barriers do not exist, except those made of necromancy which has the power to merge the two planes, or world stones.
Beings with corporeal forms are seen as ghostly images with pinpoints of light in their center. The brightness of that light depends on the magic score of the being. Only positive or negative energy attacks, Logos stone magic and magic items powered by such stones can be used as weapons in the astral plane. There are no forces of fire or ice in the astral plane. Such magic when cast from stones has no effect within the astral plane, but will have the usual effect in corresponding location of the corporeal plane. Beings that are using a spell that places their awareness and or moves them into the astral plane (Ethereal Jaunt, Astral Projection, etc.) will disappear from the corporeal plane and will see and feel themselves as normal due to their mental image of themselves. This is also how others will perceive them. Combat in the astral plane is based upon will. The following table shows ability effects:
