Custard/Atlantic recording artist James Blunt has announced today’s release of his long awaited new album. “THE AFTERLOVE (EXTENDED VERSION)” is available now everywhere.
Blunt will celebrate “THE AFTERLOVE (EXTENDED VERSION)” by joining friend and labelmate Ed Sheeran as special guest on his upcoming North American arena tour. The “÷ tour” begins June 29th at Kansas City, MO’s Sprint Center and then continues through early October (see attached itinerary). Most dates are already fully sold out – for complete details and remaining ticket availability, please visit www.jamesblunt.com/#tour.
The multiple GRAMMY® Award nominated British singer/songwriter’s fifth studio album, “THE AFTERLOVE (EXTENDED VERSION)” is highlighted by the acclaimed single, “Love Me Better.” Produced by Ryan Tedder, the emotive track is joined by an equally potent companion video, streaming now at Blunt’s official YouTube channel. In addition, “THE AFTERLOVE (EXTENDED VERSION)” includes the just released single/video, “Bartender,” as well as “Make Me Better” a track co-written with Ed Sheeran. A stellar live rendition of “Make Me Better,” performed live at YouTube Space London was also recently released.
“THE AFTERLOVE (EXTENDED VERSION)” sees Blunt melding contemporary pop production with his classic brand of personal songcraft, equal parts heartfelt poignancy and self-deprecating wit. The chart-topping troubadour enlisted a who’s who of modern talent to join him in writing and recording the album, among them such icons and studio luminaries as Ed Sheeran, Ryan Tedder, Amy Wadge (Ed Sheeran), Johnny McDaid (Example, Biffy Clyro), Stephan Moccio (Miley Cyrus, The Weeknd), and MoZella (Miley Cyrus, One Direction).
“THE AFTERLOVE (EXTENDED VERSION)” has already begun drawing advance critical acclaim around the globe. The UK’s Sunday Times recently named it “Album of the Week,” noting “There are multiple pinch-me moments on ‘THE AFTERLOVE,’” further praising Blunt for his new approach’s “sun-soaked electronica.”
James Blunt first captured the world’s attention in 2005 with his 3x RIAA platinum-certified debut, “BACK TO BEDLAM,” and its history-making #1 classic single, “You’re Beautiful.” The British tunesmith has since become one of the most popular singer/songwriters of the modern era, with total sales now in excess of 20 million albums and 12 million singles worldwide. Blunt has also been the recipient of a remarkable range of top honors, including five GRAMMY® Award nominations, two BRIT Awards, two Ivor Novello Awards (honoring British music and songwriters), and a host of MTV awards.
The UK-based singer/songwriter has further earned attention for his hugely popular and extremely witty Twitter, now boasting over 1.39 million followers at twitter.com/JamesBlunt (@jamesblunt).
