probably the slowest day ever today, stayed from 4am to 2pm, between me and philly 8 rods out, live bait, cut bait, frozen, floating shark bait, shrimps, we got:
1 scorpionfish
2 puffers
1 cowfish
1 CHUB
3 small grunts
1 small sand perch
2 small cudas
I'll be back early morning, it cannot go on like this forever

Just left the pier

Water looks great, heck everything looked great.

They were getting Mackerel when I left and saw Pompano coming up earlier Inshore.

Croakers and Sand Perch are abundant

went out this morning with the intent to catch pomps on arti's, but water looked right for macks so I vetoed that plan and started throwing the bucktail. Had alot of follows no strikes so I changed baits several times until the white and black crappie jig took my first fish, saw others catch them on small jigs too. My guess is if we could have got those jigs farther out to the South many more would have been caught. Good to see you again Texas, give me a PM next time you think you are going to make it out. Good to see you to Tom hopefully the water stays milky I have a few sick days to cash in

Was there on saturday morning, the water was just right but not alot was going on. like around 11 or 12 kclancy showed up but he wasn't in a fishing mood. At this time the mackarel were on and off, some of the guys were trying to get them with jigs but they would not bite. I was fishing with a live shrimp on a bobber and manage to get five before I left. I want to thank Blaine for helping me pull one of those macks up with the net. Good to see a few of the guys outhere fishing( tommy, cuban x, Kclancy, blaine, Englishfisher, wildcat and his crew and a few more) good fishing with you guys. that's it for me, until next friday.

Thats funny, don't know if you know but there is no Cafe Anglins that was Sarcastic Humor by a member. Though it has a great ring.

I didn`t get it until today. I talked with Lomax, I guess those garden lights across the poles might have given him that aura of a cafe`. How do you guys fish under those?

BTW, Tommy is just a cut-up kind of guy. He also talks straight off the cuff. He explained to me about the comments he made about fish tales and what he considers good days on a pier or not. I tend to agree with him though I have no comment on Anglins since I haven`t fished there in over 30 years.

Not to compare Anglins to Dania, but today was OK, but by no means red hot. Only about 60 or more pomps, and that`s while I was there (9am-4pm). And it was getting better as I left.

Still, I didn`t see any comments that Tommy made that was so inflammatory that would result in him being banned. Might it have something to do with, that you (BF) work at Anglins?

By all means, I know that this is your site BF, but you have it as an open forum. A little bantor is good for the blood. Maybe we can all meet some day, share a beer, and thicken our skins together.

Fished Sunday from 12:30 till 10, it was super packed throughout the day. Caught a trigger and croaker in the daytime, then late afternoon got a keeper pompano on peeled shrimp, and at night a small shark and lane snapper.

During the day I saw a good amount of pompano caught, some on shrimp, others on fleas.

I head out at 4:30 am, the pier was EMPTY, tossed a couple of dead baits in the water, had some nice talk with tommy and cracker wayne waiting for sunup and some more people. Wind has picked up form southeast the whole day, water color was good green and current was moving, evrything ok, but...fishing was pretty slow, scattered macks and pomps, no luck for me with artis (gotchas and xraps), not a touch on big rods with live bait too (small and medium size blue runners, sand perch on the bottom). It was right time for good breakfast

I then decided to fish the middle hut with ultralight tackle and 6 pounds test line, chicken or bottom rig with small 6 golden hook and cut shrimps. It was a blast!!! I reeled in all my fishes with that rod and I was thinking I could have packed much lighter than I was
croakers started biting hard around late morning and they were on all day, I reeled in so many, but I just kept three and released or gave away the others, it was a nice game to reel them fast enough to avoid the pelican having them, got 2 good size sand perches too, a mack on bottom rig , a decent pomp (13 inches to the fork) that was a really nice fight on that rod, lost at least another pomp who spitted the hook and lost a nice flounder taken out from the bottom, it was about 18" and 3-4 pounds, he was hung head off the water, I was just waiting for the net to take him in when the line snapped, I WAS PISSED!!!!
...not for the catch itself, but in the meantime I was just thinking about some recipes for dinner...didn't say a word for about 10 minutes, then with the pomp my dinner was at least the same good
A pretty girl beside me caught I swear 50 croakers and 2 nice pomps by herself, she was killing them, didn't take pics of her, afraid of being considered and harrassment...
Met other forum guys, xtheline, james with his son, beachfishin (the only guy I've seen on the pier with a 13' rod, good job on the pomp buddy ), I gave up around 7:30 pm and spent some more time chillin' at the bait shop. Too tired to fish the night too even if I swear bite would have been good

Some pics I snapped:

what an empty pier

not so crowded during the day too, they were all fishing the middle hut
