3.2 Reasons for visiting the event For both residents and visitors, the two main reasons for visiting the event were “general interest in events like this” and for a “day out”. Quite a high proportion had seen or heard some advertising and this is explored further in paragraph 3.3 below. 17% of visitors were “just passing” – a fairly typical proportion for events in general. By contrast, no residents gave this as a reason for attending. (Note: respondents could tick multiple answers here.)
