2.9 Types of Visitor
The Visitor questionnaire included a number of additional questions on type of visit and, for staying visitors, where they were staying and accommodation used. 72% of visitors were on a day trip from home, 5% on a day trip whilst on holiday and 23% were on a staying trip.
Combining the above with the visitor origin, we come up with the following proportions of staying visitors from the different areas:
2.10 Accommodation Type
70% of staying visitors were staying in Liverpool, 8% elsewhere in Merseyside, 17% elsewhere in the Northwest and 5% further afield. The most popular types of accommodation were staying with friends/relatives (26%), 4 star and 3 star hotels (25% and 18%).
Average length of stay was 1 night.
2.11 Ease of Getting to Liverpool
Visitors were asked how easy to was to get to Liverpool that day. 89% said that it was very easy, 7% said moderately easy.
